There’s one human race.
Congrats to Catherine Hughes for winning one of our $2,000 cash scholarships. She will be attending Georgetown University in the fall where she will be studying political science. We enjoyed having her among this class of scholars. After examining racial deconstruction, the value of meaningful relationships, career exploration, and financial counseling, this young lady is ready to make the world a better place.
Congrats to Ryleigh O’Mahony for being one of our 2023 P.U.L.L. scholars, receiving a $2,000 cash award. She plans to attend Dalton State University in the fall and study to become a social worker. After completing our sessions on racial deconstruction, relationship counseling, career counseling, and financial counseling, Ryleigh stated that one of the best pieces of advice she received is to cut back on the $6 cups of coffee. We believe that self worth and net worth are interconnected concepts.
Congratulations to Chloe McFarland, one of our latest P.U.L.L. scholars. After completing four sessions that included racial deconstruction, relationship counseling, career counseling, and financial counseling, we awarded her with this $2,000 cash scholarship. Chloe plans to attend the University of Georgia in the fall, where she intends to study marketing. Our scholarship committee is excited to send another talented human off to help change the world.
We had the best time with our P.U.L.L. scholars at the latest session. As we seek to empower them to see themselves as unique individuals, we invited professionals from various career fields to share their journey. Pharmacy, law enforcement, marketing, and floor covering management, were represented at the table. We examined if the use of race is helpful or harmful in these professions. Thank you to our guest who shared their time and expertise.
A big thank you to Dr. Joy Nwadike, an OBGYN with Advent Health, for being one of our featured guest at the latest P.U.L.L. scholarship session. She brought an immersive perspective of the need for medical professionals to examine the medical history of each unique patient.
