Congratulations to the The Ballet Studio of Carmel for hosting an amazing master class for their intermediate and advanced dancers with Ballet INitiative! This weekend, The Art Lab is hosting TWO crafting workshops at The Main Squeeze. Start off the new year with creativity and fun…

On Saturday, join us from 1-5pm for “Sock Monkey and Friends,” where children ages 7-12 years will have the opportunity to design their own stuffie out of socks, fabrics, and buttons. A variety of hand sewing techniques will be taught to encourage the crafting of a most unique, special friend!

On Sunday, the fun continues from 3:30-5pm with “Clay Pinch Pot Snowmen and Painted Snowflakes,” where little fingers will pinch earthenware clay pots into the body of a snowman, then add wonderful winter details with paint and glaze! Also during this workshop, children will be painting and bedazzling hanging snowflake shapes. This class was designed with children ages 5-8 years old in mind!

The Ballet Studio of Carmel has a few spots available in their ✨NEW✨ Ballet I class, which will be held Thursdays from 6:15-7:15pm starting next week!

Ballet I is an introduction to ballet technique for 8 & 9 year olds. Students will learn the basics of ballet while moving and exploring their creativity. Ballet I will also have the opportunity participate in the annual Showcase performance this May!

We’ll start our class with a 15 minute warm up, stretch and slow flow followed by 30 minutes of toning barre ballet. Then we’ll finish with a 15 minute savasana and meditation.

Last (but certainly not least!), we’ll reward ourselves with some Peace Water Winery bottles and socializing!

Who else has been enjoying all this extra sunshine lately?! This weekend may bring scattered thunderstorms, but The Art Lab is prepared to shine with their “Here Comes the Sun” workshop from 10-11:30am!!

Inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s Olive Trees with Yellow Sky and Sun painting, young artists will create bright and colorful landscapes full of the things they love!

This Saturday’s art workshop is the Lab’s first “Jump Into Art” class within an exploratory series that teaches children ages 5-8 years old to think imaginatively and problem solve as they manipulate, cut, bend, sculpt, balance, draw and paint!

Artists ages 7-12 years old will learn how to use color to express themselves. We’ll pose a variety of mini art challenges using complementary color families paired with contrasting colors to show emphasis. The pinnacle piece will then be creating their own masterpiece inspired by the artist Marc Frantz!

The Art Lab will host “Expressing Yourself With Color” on Saturday September 11th from 10am-2pm.

Does your child know how to use art to express their inner thoughts and feelings? In this class, for artists 7-12 years old, we’ll provide mini “art challenges” that encourage children to show emphasis using complementary color families and contrasting colors. Then our artists will have the opportunity to create their own painted masterpieces inspired by the artist Marc Frantz!
