Summer is officially here!!! Our Program staff have arrived. We started our day with a Leadership Development class with the one and only Major Anthony Barnes and First Aid / AED training with Sandra Saverns.

We want to congratulate Sarah Stillson from the Pasadena Tab in completing FORGED, a Youth Ministry Training Program at Asbury University.

FORGED is a selective two-year training experience for youth leaders, designed to teach practical strategies and spiritual disciplines that increase the longevity and effectiveness of Salvation Army youth ministry leaders.

Here is a quick testimony on how this program has impacted Sarah’s spiritual life and ministry.

What a blessing and privilege it was to represent the Western Territory, So Cal Division, and Pasadena Tab at the first ever FORGED Youth Ministry Training Program at Asbury University. Over the past two years, I have been a part of a 9-person cohort with other youth leaders from the Central and Southern Territories, headed up by Dr. Brian Hull. From the cohort we formed 3 rings, plus a coach who would guide us through the last couple years, checking in on us and our ministry, but also checking in on our own soul care. We met three times at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky, and the rest of the time we would go between meeting on zoom in our cohort and rings and one-on-one coaching calls. I am a pretty seasoned youth leader, with over 20 years experience, but Forged gave me tools and resources to look at my ministry in new ways. I can already see a huge impact on not just my youth ministry, but my ministry as a whole and my own Christian walk with the Lord. I wholeheartedly believe that God didn’t bless me with this experience to keep it to myself, but to share with others along the journey and I am excited to see how He can use me!

✨The Salvation Army USA East Music announced they’re honoring Andrew Smith of the Tustin Ranch (California) Corps with the Erik Leidzen Memorial Scholarship for Star Lake MusiCamp this summer.

The award includes full tuition for camp, as well as transportation to and from Star Lake MusiCamp in New Jersey. 🎶

We are looking for an RN to spend the summer with us, taking care of our staff and campers.

This position will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing health care in accordance with camp policy and procedures.

Minimum qualifications include: RN or LPN, 21 years of age, current CPR/First-Aid certification, experience with children, and experience in the field.
