I don’t really need help to look silly, but there you go. Let the testing begin! Is it Fast or Fiction?

Lots of people asking me details about the Scoops Ultimate SL setup on the Speed Concept. Here’s what we used:

1. Ascalon adapters for the Speed Concept Disc
2. TriRig Scoops Ultimate SL
3. Use the M6 bolts that come with the Scoops
4. You’ll need four corresponding M6 nuts
5. Tighten it all down (the holes line up nicely) in your preferred position and you’re good to go!

Had a great conversation with and today. It’s been 10 years since I had the honor of working with Luke and, though most of you may not know it, his Kona race back in 2013 changed triathlon forever and effects virtually all of you to this day. Started early this morning as the sun came up, and finished after the sun had gone down. Long day of aero testing complete!

Wrapping up our calf sleeve testing today (fingers crossed). Results are interesting, there are always surprises anytime we conduct comparison testing. Though our list for future testing is long, what would you like to see us test? Let us know in the comments.

Our chest bottle test video is going to be delayed until Tuesday, but we didn’t want to leave you all hanging, so this Saturday afternoon, May 27, we will release a YouTube short on the results from testing an Overarm hydration setup similar to what has recently displayed and what used at Ironman Texas. designed this for himself (not for sale) and is an ERO test rider. Location, location, location. Our primary test spot is about as good as it gets. Ideal for quantifying every change insuring each is a benefit to our athletes. This is the new age of bike fit. Out of the static environment of the fit studio and into the real world where you can be sure your position is working. And it’s only going to get better. Can’t wait to show you what’s coming.

First day of testing placing bottles down the front of the jersey. We tried multiple bottle sizes in multiple positions and learned a lot. Very interesting results! Many more athletes still to test and then we’ll release the results. Hoping to finish up by next week.

Big shoutout to for his overall age group win yesterday at IM Oceanside! Every fit change we made for him was quantified by aero testing. We’ve received a bunch of emails and texts from people who had PR’s yesterday after coming to ERO in the past few weeks. Congrats to you all!

Beyond finding your optimal position, explaining your position, the numbers, and your best options is a top priority at ERO.

testing the sensor at USC yesterday. Sensors were placed in different locations on his body to help understand how Hx (Hypoxanthine) levels in sweat might differ depending on where they are placed. Fascinating stuff.

It’s not easy for a male to obtain a real world CdA (drag number) below .20, but achieved it with his new position. He had some help from the angled spacer we added to his Speedmax CF SLX. This provided 2cm of much needed reach as well as 15 degrees of aerobar angle. I love the Speedmax, in fact it’s one of my favorite bikes, but it definitely has a reach problem. We have one or two tricks up our sleeve to get more reach out of it. Good kit, the Aerohead helmet, and aero wheels all worked to lower his drag as well.

Beginning to wrap up the Texas trip, so might as well do it in style! Will we be seeing an ERO in Texas? Stay tuned.

Quantifying every change with the .tech AeroPro sensor here in Austin Tx this week and next. Matt here dropped his drag significantly with the adjustments we made to his position. His aerodynamic savings equaled more than any bike, set of wheels, helmet, or clothing could possibly provide. Position is everything. Dial that in first because it’s where you’ll find your biggest gains. Forget - we want maximal gains!

Come to Austin they said. The weather will be fine for aero testing they said. Just a 24 hour delay before we kick things off both in Austin then Houston bike fitting and aero testing. Should be fun! Once it warms up anyway.
