Last night was EPIC! Our church was raided by an army of young believers ready to worship, connect, and have a blast. This is just the beginning!
Powerful night at our silent discussion.
Your voices on the wall speak volumes.
Congratulations, Olivia Reeves, on your Olympic gold! We love being the church that’s right here in the heart of the celebration.
Huge shoutout to our amazing neighbor, The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for hosting such a fantastic parade! We love being part of this community!
We are so blessed and overjoyed by the incredible time of fellowship, worship, and love we experienced today. Seeing our church family come together, new faces and familiar ones, filled our hearts with so much gratitude and joy.

Welcome back, UTC students! We’re so glad to have you on campus again. Remember, you are loved, welcomed, and wanted here. Let’s make this year unforgettable! 💙
For the first time in nearly a century, our place of worship is undergoing a major renovation. This exciting project allows us to rediscover the rich history of one of the oldest churches in downtown Chattanooga.
We warmly invite you to join us for our Homecoming celebration on August 25th at 10:30 AM. Together, we will honor the strong sense of family we have built and look ahead to our plans to give back to the community that has given so much to us.
In a world filled with distractions from our faith, we invite you to pause, reflect, and rekindle our devotion to Christ. Our Bible Summer Series, titled “Revival,” wil explore the awakening of hearts, minds, and souls to God’s presence and purpose.

“It’s about just treating people, like people.”
Often the people who need Jesus’ love most, are the ones who are shown it least.
Today our doors are open for breakfast and a conversation. It’s simple, it’s serving, it’s love.
We’re excited to welcome Jessica Sherrill, our new Children’s Coordinator at Central!
Jessica is set to bring joy and growth to our children's ministry. Let’s give her a warm welcome!
We're thrilled to welcome Harrison Gibbs as the new Campus Minister to our Christian Student Center at UTC! Harrison holds a Master's in Divinity from Heritage Christian University and valuable experience as the former Youth and College Minister at North Tuscaloosa Church of Christ. Let's extend a warm welcome and embrace Harrison and his family of three as they embark on this journey with us!
The road ahead is challenging, but with the support of our church on the corner, we press on!
This Super Bowl party is never, ever, ever getting back together... until next year!
Due to hazardous road conditions in outlying areas and low temperatures, all services at the church building this Wednesday, 1/17/2024, are canceled.
The road conditions remain dangerous in remote regions and at higher elevations. Temperatures are anticipated to decrease steadily throughout the day and into the night. Tuesday night and Wednesday are expected to see temperatures near or below zero across a large part of the area. Travel conditions will remain hazardous, with the risk of black ice rising as melted snow and wet roads refreeze.
We are excited to announce a significant transition within our church community. After twelve years as the Campus Minister at the Christian Student Center at UTC, Craig Allison is taking on a new role as our Pulpit Minister.
We believe Craig's love for Christ, dedication to the Central congregation, and proven track record will greatly contribute to our congregation's growth and spiritual well-being. Please join us in a prayerful welcome to Craig!
We are thrilled to introduce Preston Johnson as our newly appointed Song Leader for our worship services! Preston brings a wealth of experience in song leading from his time at the Rossville Church of Christ, the congregation where he grew up.
This is also Preston’s second year as a Student Ambassador at our Christian Student Center at UTC, where he studies Instrumental Music Education. His dream job would be to work as UGA Director of Bands!
Join us in extending a warm welcome to Preston as he brings his talent, dedication, and love for worship to our church community.
Thank you Chris, for a thoughtful lesson about using God’s blessings to bless others.
Nolan gave his life to Christ this morning. Be sure to shower him with love when you see him next.
Since so many who participated in 24 Hours of Prayer found it easier than they thought it would be to pray for extended periods of time, the questions must be asked ‘What hinders us from having a prayerful life? What keeps us from praying like that all the time?’.
One hindrance is the spiritual warfare that is being waged all around us. Satan wages war on us constantly and wants us to give in to fleshly desires. He certainly doesn’t want us to devote time in prayer.
Gal 5:17
Eph 6:12
John 8:44
John 10:10
I Pet 5:8
*Overcome the hindrance:
We need the armor of God to win against spiritual warfare.
Eph 6:13-18
Remember: The Battle Belongs to the Lord.
A second hindrance to prayer is disobedience and sin.
Genesis 3:8
Guilt hinders our connection to our Lord.
*Overcome the hindrance:
1. A spiritual house cleaning where we set aside time to confess sins, seek forgiveness, and make things right with God reconnects us to him.
I John 1:9
2. Obeying God and setting aside our desires for what pleases him leads to maturity.
John 14:15
3. The more we mature in him, the more we will want to fellowship with him in prayer so that his work will be accomplished through us. Eph 3:20
Remember: Amazing Grace
Thank you to Evan and Brandon for directing our thoughts on ways to grow our prayer lives. We serve a POWERFUL God. 🙏🏻
Are we rational consumers?
Most likely.
Are we rational Christians?
Let’s not be! Let’s do irrational things as we follow the example of Jesus!
Show irrational compassion:
Luke 10:30-37
Give irrational forgiveness:
Matthew 18:21-35
Gift irrational love to others:
John 13:34
Let it never be said about us that we walked by on the other side of the street when we saw a need, that we refused grace and forgiveness to someone who wanted another chance, that we hoarded and hid the love of God from anyone.
Jed, thank you for sharing God’s message with us through the lens of economics. Such good thoughts for us this week. 🙏🏻
