๐ŸŒŸ **Out and About in the Community: Embrace Every Moment** ๐ŸŒŸ

In a world where we're all moving, exploring, and engaging, there's something truly magical about being out and about in our communities. Each step we take, every smile we share, and every hand we lend creates ripples of positivity and change.

Keep shining, keep sharing, and keep believing in the power of community. Together, we can make a difference, one small act of kindness at a time. ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿฝ

Congratulations to Rose-Mary CLE's very own, Jessica Lane, LPN, on receiving the OHCA Best of Ohio 2023 ID/DD Excellence Award! We are incredibly proud of her devotion to Rose-Mary and unwavering commitment to the individuals she serves. We encourage you to read a snippet of Jessica's nomination for she is a true healthcare hero:

"Jessica advocates for the individualโ€™s medical needs while supporting their family members. Recently we had an individual that was hospitalized for over 2 months, Jessica checked in regularly, visiting the individual in the hospital, to ensure they were receiving the care needed while advocating for his needs in a system that does not always understand the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities. In addition, she challenged physicians when they were ready to brush off our concerns, and she helped the family with understanding his healthcare journey.

Jessica's dedication and passion to Rose-Mary and, especially, the individuals served, is evident through her tireless advocacy for the individuals, and oversight. Since 2020, the nursing shortage has greatly affected our agency. Through the turnover of nurses, Jessica has remained the stable and consistent caregiver, medical professional, and medical advocate, to our individuals. There were times when she was the only full-time nurse in a department of 3 and she ensured all nursing needs were met! Jessica is always willing to jump right in and help to ensure good medical care was received."

On this , let us congratulate Jessica and thank all nurses for the care they provide!

We are very grateful for those who have courageously served and are actively serving to protect our freedoms and work towards peace. On this Veterans Day, formerly known as Armistice Day, may we offer our prayers, words of encouragement, and active support by giving back in our day to day lives.

This , consider mixing it up by adding something creative, exciting and new to your week!

Don't forget to this weekend! To help you cope with and "falling back," try to keep the time you spend sleeping about the same as you are used to, stick to your normal mealtimes, shift your workouts to embrace the morning light, and welcome exciting and new activities to beat the winter blues.

At Rose-Mary CLE, we are thankful for the way our employees connect with one another and recognize the ways in which teamwork makes the dream work. Without everyone's devotion, we could not continue to enrich the lives of children and adults with disabilities. Thank you!

Try this teambuilding exercise with your family or team: "Spider Web"
1) Sit in a circle with your fellow team or family members.
2) Have one person start with the ball of yarn, stating name, role in organization/family, and before tossing it to the next person, expressing how he/she is dependent upon that next person.
3) Holding firmly to the end of the string, toss the ball of yarn to that next person.
4) The string should be held tightly and above the ground.
5) Continue passing the ball of yarn and creating that "spider web" until everyone has received it at least once.
6) Feel free to mix up the topics, share other statements.
7) At the very end, take a look at the web created and recognize how you are all connected! If anything happens to one part of the web, everyone else is affected too!

Our tip of the week is to embrace diversity! "The beauty of the world lies in the diversity of its people." -Unknown

We hope you had a wonderful and safe Halloween, and are able to see the authenticity and beauty in every person beyond their costumes.

Happy Halloween, from our office home to yours! Hope you make it inclusively spooktacular! ๐ŸŽƒ

"We won't make you ask for a trick or a treat.
No blue buckets required to get a sweet.
No one is too old or too young to join in.
And you don't need a costume to give us a grin.
It isn't our business if you can talk or cannot.
Or why you want a trinket put into your pot.
Halloween is for everyone,
No ifs, ands, or buts.
Our home is inclusive, we won't keep our door shut."
