The Applications Analyst is responsible for ensuring on-time configuration, testing, documentation, implementation, maintenance and end user satisfaction associated with New Avenues’ core software systems. Key activities may include defining functional specifications and configuring the software applications. Other activities include creating/maintaining reports and dashboards, staff training, client training, end user support, and application administration. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting and problem resolution for current and future functionality of both client and staff software. Determine client technology needs, requirements and available solutions.

On March 27th, our NATI Choir had the honor of singing the National Anthem before the Cleveland Charge game at the Wolstein Center in downtown Cleveland! Our choir did an amazing job performing in front of their largest crowd yet. Good luck to those Charge players who are on the Cleveland Cavaliers roster as they start the NBA Playoffs this coming weekend!

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Melanie Carnes as the new CEO of New Avenues to Independence effective April 1st, 2024. The Board of Directors, having completed their interviewing process, released the following statement from Board Chair, Steve Kachur:
“Melanie Carnes, as Chief Strategy Officer, has performed her duties competently, efficiently, and effectively over the past four years, meeting priority goals and achieving excellent outcomes. She has demonstrated the ability to think strategically, implement efficiently and bring new partners to the table. We are confident that Melanie will bring these attributes and her many leadership abilities to her new position as CEO. We look forward to working with her as we continue to grow and move the agency forward.”
During her 4+ year tenure as Chief Strategy Officer Melanie has accomplished the following:
•The sale of Main Campus on Euclid Avenue and the securing of, and transition to, the new offices on Superior Avenue.
• The purchase of three new ICF homes, and the renovation and opening of two to date. Transitioning twelve individuals from our legacy homes including the cottages on Euclid Avenue.
• The purchase and implementation of five new software solutions to improve efficiencies in multiple departments.
• Significant capital improvements to our legacy ICF homes.
• The addition of six new vehicles to our fleet & disposal of outdated vehicles.
Melanie brings a wealth of experience with 30 years in the developmental disabilities field coming to New Avenues in 2020.

• Assist individuals in activities of daily life including bathing, dressing, toileting, eating,
medications, leisure activities, and individual plan as directed.
• Ensure proper implementation of Individual Habilitation Plan/Individual Service

• Complete clear, accurate and timely paperwork.
• Maintain a work environment that is healthy, safe, clean and comfortable.

• Provide support for individuals to participate in activities and outings of their choosing,
including participation in integrated community events.
• Assist individuals in developing and following a person centered lifestyle, encouraging
personal choice and self-direction.
• Support individual needs and choice in a positive environment, focusing on creating a
setting that acknowledges personal choice, is respectful, professional, and cognizant of
privacy.
• Report all instances of health concerns, abuse, neglect, mistreatment and exploitation
• Participate in training as required, including maintaining proper certifications.
• Exhibit a positive, respectful, and professional behavior toward individuals served, families,
and New Avenues personnel.
• Follow New Avenues policies and procedures as well as regulatory standards.
