The Clark School honors alumni from the Class of 2024! 🎉 Today, we highlight Brendan McNelly, a Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Maryland graduate and the Senior Engineering Manager at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab (JHU/APL). Brendan has authored ten academic publications on robotics and autonomous underwater vehicles, spanning journals, conferences, and patents, and has received Outstanding Speaker and Technical Paper Awards.

Latine Heritage Month Spotlight: Life is all about community for Marlon Cruz, a University of Maryland Department of Fire Protection Engineering senior. He is a ClarkLEADER, a member of SHPE University of Maryland, and a member of the FPE diversity, equity, and inclusion committee. He is also launching his own social impact project as a fellow through the Do Good Accelerator: “Uniendo Voces Latinas: A Latino Political Empowerment Initiative” aims to increase political knowledge and political action within communities of Spanish-speaking individuals while expanding voter rights.
