The Burgess House of Hope is a community House serving those in the inner city. Bringing Hope and support to children and their families in the neighborhood.
Burgess House of Hope Back-to-School event 2024.
What a privilege it is to help these young minds embark on their educational journeys. Education truly is the most powerful tool for change, as wisely stated by Nelson Mandela.
Oh, how I’ve missed these sweet faces! There is no greater joy than giving back.
Easter is more than just eggs and candy. It is also about peace, joy, and LOVE!
Easter is the embodiment of love - the love of Christ and God our Father. It’s a time to share that love with those who mean the most, but also to extend it to our communities.
Let everything you do be done in love.” — 1 Corinthians 16:14

CHRISTMAS IS MOST TRULY
CHRISTMAS WHEN WE CELEBRATE IT BY GIVING
THE LIGHT OF LOVE TO THOSE WHO NEED IT MOST.
Thank you to everyone who was part of The Burgess House of Hope Christmas Blessing!!
If we could learn to make LOVE a priority, it would resolve a lot of the conflits that have become way over
complicated.
Thanksgiving is not just about giving thanks , but also about giving back. Gratitude and giving back go hand in hand with each other.
With much gratitude, we were able to bless several families with turkeys for Thanksgiving and winter coats for the kiddos.
Thanks so everyone who donated. We couldn’t do what do without your support. *Due to all the rain we didn’t get many photos, but here are a few, their little smiles say it all.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” – Leo Buscaglia

It’s hard to believe that today was our last Summer Day at The Burgess House. Which means summer is almost over 😢 and these kiddos are getting ready to go back to school.
We have had so much fun!! Thank you to everyone who made The Burgess House of Hope summer program possible. It took a lot of helping hands to provide delicious meals, games, arts & crafts, and all our fun activities this summer for 25-30 kids each week. We couldn’t have done it without all your help!!
Special thanks to Ryan and Alicia Meyers for renting the bounce house for the kiddos today. What a sweet surprise.
Children need at least one person in their life who thinks the sun rises and sets on them, someone who delights in their existence and love them unconditionally.

Sometime LOVE looks like groceries.
Love is often mistaken for a mere feeling, but according to the Bible it always involves actions (1 John 3:17-18). It largely consists in tending to the welfare of others.
Today we had the honor to help a young momma, who is starting a new job today and need items to pack for her lunches.
Do what you can to ensure that other people have what they need. That’s what love looks like!
Dr. King believed that strength came from a community working together as a whole. That is exactly the heart of The Burgess House of Hope!!
As we honor the memory of Dr. King today, we take this time to reflect on ways that we can help support our communities.
We have a lot of BIG plans coming for 2023!!
2022 was an incredible year full of amazing moments + memories! My heart is full as I look at all these pictures of all these beautiful faces and smiles from this past year. We are so blessed to have this opportunity to love on our community.
The only way to transform a city is to build community. The only way to build community it to LOVE and care for one another. Love your neighbor as yourself!!
