Mid-Ohio Food Collective announces partnership with city to transform vacant Eastland shopping plaza The 67,000-square-foot center will offer a free food market, a community health center, city programs and other resources to residents in southeast Columbus.
As we honor the memory of our beloved Community Leader Benjamin Tarr Famatta Dunor, he would have urged us to keep working! Today, we had an exciting announcement from City of Columbus - City Hall regarding the proposed Eastland Prosperity Center! LICI has been tirelessly collaborating with Mid-Ohio Foodbank to support our neighbors in Franklin County. This announcement signifies a bright future for the Eastland Corridor and a prosperous future for LICI.
Our Board Chairman represented us exceptionally well at the press conference alongside Mayor Andrew J. Ginther , Columbus City Council President Hardin, Matt Hahash CEO of Mid-Ohio Food Collective, where the City unveiled a $4 million investment in the Prosperity Center. LICI is committed to working closely with our partners to ensure that our immigrant communities are served equitably. We are excited about this partnership and look forward to what lies ahead!
We also want to express our gratitude to Franklin County Job and Family Services for their investment and support as we continue to make a positive impact in our community.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our brother and community leader Honorable Benjamin Tarr. Surrounded by family and friends, he peacefully passed October 20, 2024. Details relating to funeral arrangements will be shared with everyone shortly. Please keep the family in your prayers.
