We were proud to support Nationwide Children's Hospital Hair Equity Project last year through our fundraising efforts! And we are even more proud to see them recognized on Good Morning America this week for their continued work to break barriers in pediatric care for patients of all ethnicities.

Ohio hospital making impact with hair care initiative for patients of all hair types The Nationwide Children's Hospital implemented a Hair Care Equity Committee to introduce new hair care products, education and policies hospital-wide to offer better care for all types of hair.

Big thanks to Nationwide Children's Hospital Foundation President Steve Testa for stopping by our April membership meeting last night to share his journey to a career in fundraising and some exciting things on the horizon for the hospital. Our members walked away feeling inspired and excited for what's ahead!

Don't forget! Now through January 3, $1.50 for each Cheryl's cookie purchased and $0.50 for each bottle of Aquafina water purchased will be donated to the movement to provide mental health resources to families and children in our community.

Last night we had the honor of presenting Surlina Asamoa, MSN, RN, CCM with the 2021 Monarch Award. Surlina is an Education Nurse Specialist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital leading the recently created Hair Care Equity initiative and Committee. In less than a year, Surlina and the Hair Care Equity program have already had immense impact, developing staff education, making equitable hair care products available for all inpatient units and creating a hospital guideline.

Now in its second year, the Monarch Award recognizes a Nationwide Children's Hospital team member that has positively impacted our program beneficiary of the current year.

Patient champions Payton and Corbin got to work with Lion Cub's Cookies owner Bradley to create their very own cookie flavor - Apple Jacks! - that is being featured in this week's lineup!

First was a brainstorming session, followed by an all-hands on deck recipe testing experience at the shop in Grandview. There may have also been a pretty epic game of hide-and-seek while they waited for the dough to chill 🙈
