They just don’t make ‘em like they used to. That is exactly how we feel about Jim Grashel. He is the epitome of hard work & getting the job done right. Jim suffered his 2nd stroke several months back & worked hard at his rehab to get back on his feet.

The first day he was home he called to talk about coming back to work. Rich told him to take it easy, perhaps to not walk his block that day, listen to his doctors & build back his strength. Jim was cleared to work back in June & has been hitting the gym again. After this past weekend’s visit and seeing this legend rise to some much needed tasks, we are happy to announce that Mr. Jim is back! 💪

He will be working at BLT East & to make sure things are kept tidy and to assist with sales during the day. We believe in community & hard work and Jim does too! Welcome back Jim!! 🙌

The new setup of our Heavy Room at Beyond Limits is complete! 🔥💪 Our Oly platforms are still drying and we will check them out in the morning. We learned a few tricks down in Orlando to make them both pretty & functional. We have a little reorganization to do in the other room still. Happy lifting everyone! Start your week out right. 👊

The USA Powerlifting Beyond Limits Classic (sanction -2024-5) is this Saturday, July 20 thanks to & . We are happy to promote drug free powerlifting & our lady lifters getting stronger!

We are throwing it WAY back to the early days of Beyond Limits! We began mostly as a bodybuilding gym that specialized in going heavy, going hard and working harder than anyone else. We still very much do ALL those things! 💪

Congratulations to our gym member and staff member on competing in his first Strongman completion. Don took part in the USAWA Hackendinnie Classic. He successfully completed a 135lb Hackenschmidt floor press and a 440lb Dinnie Stone lift.

Don did a lot of his training to prepare for this competition at our Reynoldsburg location which carries a large variety of strong man equipment. If you are interested, please stop in and see Don and he can set you up with a membership to our awesome gyms!!

We want to wish Beyond Limits Trainer Ian Jump all the best on his pursuit of his PhD in Kinesiology this fall at Auburn University! 👏 Ian has been a member for nearly 6 years growing from member, to trainer, to graduate degree, to strength and conditioning coach to soon Dr. Jump!! I’m so excited for the next chapter in my family’s life as we move down to Auburn, Alabama where I will be pursuing my PhD in Kinesiology.

I want to thank everyone that has helped me along the way, especially my wife for being supportive in this big life change. Thank you to my parents for always supporting me as well. Thank you to the Denison strength staff for helping me become a better coach and always challenging me to better the field of exercise science. Thank you to everyone I have worked with at Denison (coaches, athletic trainers, faculty, staff). Lastly, thank you to all of my athletes for making my experience at Denison truly amazing.

Beyond Limits custom picks pieces of strength equipment to meet the needs of its members. Yesterday, we had the privilege to meet with the team at in Orlando to discuss their future plans & our future plans.

They tweaked their beautiful pendulum squat to lighten the 160 lb counter balance shown here at our downtown gym. That complaint was never received from our strong people! 😂💪

However, start with NO weight on this machine & gradually add weight. Then, perhaps just ONE 2️⃣5️⃣ lb plate, NOT two….lighter is better when warming up & finding your groove. Pro tip for the day. 👍

Our April Movement of the Month is complete. Strong effort by a lot of members logging in assault bike calories. Special shout-out to and for logging over 1,000 calories each (if those hashtags can be believed haha).

Our May movement is push-ups!! It’s a great way to strengthen your chest and triceps so get after it!! See the board and the second slide for more details. As always a special shout-out to and Cody (not on IG) for developing and maintaining our PR / Movement of the Month board!! You guys rock!!

Our powerlifting combo racks have been upgraded with TSS bench pads. These pads are the same pads that are used at national powerlifting meets. They are wider and provide a lot more grip. If you are a powerlifter or someone who is looking to get into powerlifting, Beyond Limits Training is your gym. Only the best equipment for our members!

And that’s a wrap for Arnold weekend 2024. What an incredible weekend. We welcomed guests from all over the country and the world. Made new friends from Germany, Spain, Poland and from Michigan, California and Hawaii (and many many other places). One of the most fun things about Arnold week is that we get to host some awesome people from all over the world at our gym.
