Maverick, a therapy dog for the U.S. Army Fort Leonard Wood USO Center in Missouri, was named Canine of the Year by The Humane Society of the United States.
For the past 6 years, Maverick has worked with service members and military children, supporting them through difficult times, demonstrating unconditional love and guiding them towards healing.

Civilian pilot Eugene Ely demonstrated the possibilities of operating aircraft from a ship in 1910 when, at the controls of a Curtiss pusher airplane, he launched from the cruiser USS Birmingham at Hampton Roads, VA. The airplane struck the water after launch, but Ely managed to remain airborne and make a flight to shore.
Great Veteran's Day event in Beavercreek hosted by Mayor Bob Stone. Large turnout with many officials and dignitaries from across Greene County in attendance. Excellent remarks by WPAFB Mission Support Group Commander, music by the Air Force Band of Flight, Civil Air Patrol Color Guard, and VFW 21 Gun Salute.
