German Village Neighborhood Yard Sale is this Saturday, May 18th | 8 am - 3pm. A list and map of participating residents is our bio -- Reminder: It is illegal to set up booths/tables in parks or sidewalks in GV without a permit or permission from homeowners.

To celebrate Maifest: Legends and Landmarks we are highlighting some of German Village’s legends!
Ann Lilly moved to Beck St in 1961 and rented an apartment for $75/month. She lived across from Frank Fetch Park, which, at the time, was a vacant lot that became home to a carnival 🎡. She reminisced on her early years in the village: “It was a broken down neighborhood but had a lot of spirit.”
 
Ann served on the German Village Commission from 1974-1988. She contributed to writing the bylines for historic preservation.
 
☔️ Fun Fact: She’s responsible for the Grace Highfield Garden by Umbrella Girl, and has helped take care of the Umbrella Girl for the past 25 years.
