This week members of our club had the opportunity to attend the Oregon Society of Healthcare Executives 2017 Conference which was an amazing event and opportunity to meet professionals in the healthcare industry. If you don't want to miss out on future networking opportunities we strongly encourage you to come check us out. Our next meeting is May 30th in Waldo 400.
The Society of Healthcare Executives and Society of Healthcare Administrators will be having our Week 7 meeting this Tuesday, May 16 in Waldo 400 at 6:00pm.
We will be hosting Marty Cahill, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon, OR.
This is a great opportunity to network with a professional in the healthcare field, and we hope to see many of you there!
On December 1, 2016 ACHCA is hosting a Christmas Fundraiser starting at 6pm at Kell's Irish Pub 112 SE 2nd Ave. Portland, OR. 97204. If you are interested in attending, or know of someone who is interested, please RSVP to our club president Mackenzie at [email protected] to confirm your attendance no later than Friday, November 25th.
We are currently hosting a fundraiser with Roxy Dawgs that will take place on Wednesday, November 16th from 11am to 9pm. The money raised from this event will help to subsidize costs, contributing to leadership development and attendance at healthcare conventions.
Roxy Dawgs will donate back 25% of every meal purchased. If you are interested in attending click the link below and commit to eating.

Candidates will each give a 2-4 minute speech about their past leadership experiences, their involvement in the club thus far, and what they believe they can contribute to the organization.

There are five positions members can run for:

-Vice President

This is sooner than in the past, but SHE club elections will be held Tuesday, March 3.
Interested in running? Here is what you need to know –
¨ We are seeking applicants who are actively involved in the club and attend meetings. If you have not been to a meeting yet this year, no worries. Start joining us this winter!
¨ February 24 we will hold an informal question and answer meeting about becoming an officer.
¨ Candidates can expect to submit an application to the executive team and present a 3-5 minute speech on March 3 to the club.
¨ If you have any further questions, feel free to contact any executive team leader!
Additionally, meetings will generally be held on Tuesdays at 6pm in Waldo 400 this term. Keep checking our Facebook for details and follow us on Twitter to keep up to date on meetings!

We will be starting a "Get to Know Your Team" campaign in the next couple weeks, in order to highlight certain member of SHE who are doing outstanding work in the field. First up, club executives!

The three committees we have put together are:
1. Mentorship – Members in the mentorship committee can expect helping find guest speakers, developing career enhancing events, and providing guidance to our new members!
2. Fundraising – Members in this committee will help in the planning, organizing, and follow through of fundraising activities and events.
3. Community Outreach – Members will help find events or organize volunteers for possible community outreach opportunities. Those who have great ideas for volunteer work are encouraged to join this committee!
We are still looking for two more leaders to fill our Head positions in the Fundraising and Community Outreach committees.
If you are interested in becoming the Head of a committee please email Demetria Thompson at [email protected] by September 12.
In addition to these leadership positions, we need committee members! If you are interested in becoming a member in one, two, or all three of the committees you can also email Demetria at the above address by September 12.
