First LLAB of spring term in the books. FDE prep and Squadron marching. Also a surprise announcement on Space Force Enrollment allocations. Congratulations C/Greene and C/Thornton!

Mar 07 LLAB: Today cadets honed in on their teamwork and communication skills through GLPs on a simulated FT schedule.

LLAB Feb 15 2024: ORI prep and campus marching.

A year ago today we tragically lost cadet Enrique Espinoza, a member of our family at Det.685. Not a day goes by where Ricky isn’t there in spirit with each and every one of us at Det.685. His presence, motivation, and dedication to improving himself and those around him was contagious, and is a constant reminder to everyone to embody what Ricky stood for.

Our heart goes out to the Espinoza family.

Meet C/O’Meara: Hi! I’m cadet O’Meara. I grew up all over the place thanks to My dad (he’s retired from the coast guard now & has that fabulous beard). I hope to lead and serve with a similar dedication as him, that is why I joined AFROTC. Outside of school & ROTC I’m obsessed with my dog Beanz who I’ve had since the day she was born, I spend a lot of my time going on runs & have worked at Dutch bros for 4 years and counting!

Meet C/Satchell. C/Satchell is an AS 100 from Lincoln Nebraska and decided to join the Air force because of her involvement with Air Force JROTC. C/Satchell enjoys. video games and being outside in nature. C/Satchell is a cross town cadet at the U of O and is studying Environmental Studies and Non-Profit Management.

So nice to see everyone’s faces again! 🤠

🚨Cadet Summer Spotlight🚨

From C/Mock: “Project GO in Morocco was such an incredible experience! I lived with a Moroccan family and attend intensive Arabic classes for two months. Even going into the summer with no knowledge of the Arabic language, I learned so much. Besides school, there was plenty of opportunities to explore the country and culture of Morocco. I traveled almost every weekend and my favorite trip was to Merzouga where we got to camp in the Sahara desert! The local staff and other cadets studying with me really elevated the entire experience. I highly recommend applying to Project GO if you have the chance! “

🚨Cadet Summer Spotlight🚨
C/Magana Visited Whiteman AFB for Project Tuskegee, a 5 day immersion into the Air Force Global Strike Command mission and the many units that make Whiteman run.

Highlights of the week were visiting the EOD unit, flying the MQ-9 Reaper simulator, and the B-2 stealth bomber.

Congratulations to all of our Field training 23’ graduates!

Busy, busy, busy last LLAB of the term! We took our annual group photo, changed command from Cadet Magana to Cadet Clear, and present Lt. Col Cunningham with a going away gift as he heads to his next duty station. For all of our cadets, good luck this summer and we will see you next year!

Early mornings mean nothing to us 😤 our FTP cadets woke up before the Sun to get one last LLAB in before heading off to field training. Good luck!
