Coast Collective Co/Lab Spring 2022 presentations took place this week!
We located a lot of talent ! Students presented their brands/ business/ products decks in the FASH 177 class: Merchandising Concepts!
Congratulations to the new additions to the Co/Lab! We can’t wait to shop your products later this semester!

Did you guys miss Power Hour?! 😮Well…we are back with not 1 but 2 special guests this semester! On April 13th, we have 2 special guests: Rosanna Brearley — Senior Designer (She designs La Blanca Swim and Hobie Girls swim.) and Megan Riddle — Director of Design and Merchandising.
Come join us at The Box (located on Adam Lot near the MBCC building) at 1:30pm. Come bring your friends and questions for these swim experts! This is a FREE event and don’t forget to come early to get good seats! 🤩

It’s that time of the year again fashion students! The Judith Hendler Design Awards are taking place from May 7th - June 11th.
Accepted submissions must use the concept of footwear, no matter how it is distorted or re-imagined.
The shape, form or idea of a shoe, boot, slipper, sandal or sneaker must be evident. An actual shoe or part of a shoe may be manipulated to create a new artwork. Heels, soles, leather and fabric, laces and straps are all fair game. Inspiration may be taken from the common references to shoes in everyday language. Where possible, recycled/repurposed/reused is greatly encouraged.

Join the 2nd class of the Sustainbility in Apparel Industry Certificate program this Spring (pre req FASH190)
We’ll be exploring the impacts of manufacturing + how those impacts can be minimized or corrected throughout the supply chain. Students will also study brands to identify apparel & accessories that have been made sustainably, as well as understanding the ‘sustainable language’, Industry reports and researching the latest innovative solutions and current topics such as the circular economy, waterless production & detoxing the supply chain.

FASH255 Fashion Illustrating Techniques 1 students presented their work to Ben Soto, VP of Creative services
The students worked in groups to design a cooler or promotional accessory for the Igloo brand using Adobe Illustrator.
Through this project the students not only learn 3D Illustration techniques, but also how to design an ‘on brand’ product and present to an Industry professional.
A big thank you to our fashion club officers and members ! You kept us connected this semester as we transition back to campus this semester and into Spring!
So many great coffee shop moments, new friends, community, and keeping os motivated and connected to our industry and each other! Never enough time together and making up for the last two years remote!
We do love that thanks to zoom we can be in two places at one time .
Watch out for this group in the spring! They are planning an awesome industry event you won’t want to miss! It’s not to late to sign up to be on the planning committee!
