Family Legacy
The true heartbeat of Family Legacy is to transform the nation of Zambia by bringing each child to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through education.
As Camp Life comes to a close, our hearts are overflowing with joy!
We've watched countless seeds take root, lives bloom, and friendships blossom this year at Camp Life!
While it's bittersweet to bid farewell, we're filled with gratitude for every moment shared and every soul touched.
Until next time!
"A glad heart makes a cheerful face..." Proverbs 15:13
If you joined us for Camp Life 2024, and made some unforgettable memories, drop us a đź’š đź’š đź’š in the comments.
Exodus 35:10 says "Have every skillful person among you come and make all that the Lord has commanded..."
It takes a whole community of people with a variety of skills and talents to coordinate and execute our Camp Life season. Together, it's an incredible picture of Kingdom building. To each person who's been involved--in big ways, small ways, hidden ways, and enduring ways, we are so thankful you.
We are nearing the finish line of an incredible Camp Life 2024 season. So much goes into planning and executing this six week international event, and we are incredibly thankful for the behind-the-scenes team that pulls of this experience for our ambassadors, children, and staff.
Check out some fun numbers that go into our favorite six weeks of the year.
When children enter Camp Life, they often come with little to no understanding of the freedom Christ provides. Our staff and participants pray for mighty transformation as they teach the children about Christ's sufficiency in every corner of our lives.
In our recent blog post, we share about how children find freedom through Christ at Camp Life. Read it here: familylegacy.com/empowered-for-freedom/
Our Camp Life verse this year is Joshua 1:9 where it says, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid do not be discouraged for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
Listen in as children from this year's Camp Life share what they've learned with you!
If you've ever joined us for Camp Life, you know Monday afternoons are when Ambassadors get to meet the new children in their group for the first time. It's an incredible moment with plenty of behind-the-scenes work that goes into getting the children ready to meet their Ambassadors.
Join Caleb, a member of our summer staff, as he takes us on a tour of all the Monday prep that goes into the best week ever.
Happy Sunday! May you find Jesus everywhere this week.
We have an incredible team of Zambian partners who come alongside each ambassador during their week of Camp Life. Each partner is a translator, evangelist, and extra set of eyes to help address children's needs throughout the week. They are vital to the ministry, and we are so grateful for their willingness to serve throughout the summer.
Take a listen to Michael, one of our amazing Camp Life partners, as he shares his perspective on Family Legacy and Camp Life.
Camp Life—our final week!
This coming week, our team is focused on the Tree of Life Children's Village. They have planned a time full of fun and spiritual growth for the children staying at the Tree of Life this year, and we are excited to get it started!
If you want to learn more about this short-term residential facility or sponsor a child at the Tree of Life, visit the link in our bio.

We will begin recruiting college-aged young adults for our 2025 Summer Staff this fall. If you're interested in applying to be on our team next summer, we'd love to hear from you! Send an email to our Camp Life team at [email protected] to be notified when applications open!
The Evangecube is a visual aid we use to share the Gospel with children at Camp Life. They learn the Gospel through visual and story and are encouraged to practice during small group time each day.
Some children who attend Camp Life have never heard this message and plenty will even come to know Jesus during this week. By the end of Camp, they are excited to share the Gospel with their guardians at Community Day—some caregivers also make a profession of faith after hearing about Jesus from their children!
It's an incredible week of ministry, and we covet your prayers as this week's Ambassadors and Partners reflect Jesus to the 400+ children in Camp Life week 5.
In 2023 alone, 1,239 of our students accepted Christ!
Understanding Christ’s love and bringing that to their communities is cause for celebration!
No matter where you are, you can invest in our students' spiritual growth by pausing to pray for them right now. If you feel compelled to take it a step further, consider sponsoring a vulnerable Zambian child today by clicking here: https://bit.ly/3yNanza
If you've ever been on the fence about joining us for Camp Life here in Zambia because you're worried about the accommodations, we'd love to share with you a few video clips of where you'll be staying if and when you decide to join us.
Traveling can be hard, but our accommodations during Camp Life allow you to get the rest you need to minister and love well during the day.
If you've joined us for Camp Life and stayed with us here at the Legacy Resort, how would you describe the accommodations to someone who asks?
Sponsorship isn't just about financial aid; it's about shaping futures. Did you know that sponsoring a child improves their chance of graduating by 40%?

"I have come that they have life and that they may live it more abundantly." - John 10:10
At Family Legacy, our work is focused on one goal: Glorifying God by empowering vulnerable and orphaned children in Zambia to live out their God-given potential.
It’s Heroes Day here in Zambia! So of course we had to ask the children at Camp about who their heroes are, and share their answers with you!
This week in Zambia is Child Health Week, a time of focused preventative care for children across the country. As a ministry that serves the most vulnerable children in Lusaka, we wholeheartedly agree that they should receive the best medical care possible—fortunately, we have an incredible team who makes that happen every day!
If you want to support the tremendous efforts of our medical team, consider donating toward our 2024 Hill Wellness Center Initiative using the link below.

Camp Life is always family friendly, and one of our favorite parts is seeing kids minister to kids.

Helen is one of 2,000+ children who will join us for our 2024 Camp Life Season--follow along with her as she shows you what her day looks like, which includes singing, dancing and learning about Jesus plus a medical screening and quality 1:1 time with her Ambassador.
(PS: Helen wanted to know if this video would make her famous 🤩 --would love to show her all your likes and comments later this week!)
During Camp Life, our kids' laughter fills the air. Nothing beats the joy of seeing them on the playground, kicking around a soccer ball.
Here's to days filled with play, growth, and endless goals!
If you couldn't join us this year for Camp, we are missing you! Camp Life 2025 applications will open this fall, and we'd đź’š to have you join us!
At Camp Life, our Zambian partners play an irreplaceable role in helping participants and pouring into children.
In 2016, Stephanie Beard met Jacqueline, a Zambian partner who helped make Stephanie's first Camp Life one she would never forget. 2 weeks ago, Stephanie and Jacqueline had a surprising and sweet reunion. Read the full story here: https://bit.ly/4bgs89X
On this Juneteenth, we honor the profound journey toward freedom and the ongoing pursuit of spiritual freedom for Zambian children.
As we reflect on the tremendous impact of freedom for African Americans in the United States, we pray for ALL types of bo***ge to be lifted, including the spiritual bo***ge that haunts much of the world today.
At Family Legacy, we believe that Jesus alone can free the world from this bo***ge, and we are committed to proclaiming His name in Zambia to bring the spiritual liberty that only He can.
While we celebrate what this day commemorates, take some time to pray with us that God would use us to spread Christ's freedom to the ends of the Earth.
Our medical interns play an important role in screening kids for malnutrition and medical conditions each Tuesday of Camp Life.
Here's a quick peek behind-the-scenes with this week's intern team—tag someone studying medicine who should join us for Camp Life 2025!
Camp Life Week 2 came with all the emotions. You were strong and courageous and you left your mark on our hearts.
