I started offering Reiki professionally back in 2012, mostly renting treatment rooms per hour here and there for the first years of my previous practice, The Reiki Rose LLC. It was only in 2021, as I created Third Eye Acupuncture & Wellness, when I had more of a permanent business home, renting one....

The holidays can be fun but also can be pretty stressful! Acupuncture is a great way to promote the parasympathetic (“rest & digest”) nervous system to promote relaxation. Cupping is an incredible tool in the ol' acupuncture toolbox, great for moving stagnant qi & blood and stopping pain! This set uses a plastic pump to create suction, while more traditional cupping uses fire to create that vacuum seal. Don't worry- the pink marks means that old, stagnant blood is being pulled out so that fresh circulation (and healing!) can be brought to the area. Try out cupping today!

to Fall 2017 when I began my grad school journey at the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. And now I just have 73 days until graduation! :) Can't wait to get licensed and get my practice going!

Reiki has been getting more research and buzz in the last decade, and some of the results are finally being published! The more we study it, the more data becomes available, and the more widely accepted it becomes in the medical and mainstream fields. Always great to see studies like this verifying the results I’ve seen in the last 12+ years of practicing Reiki!

It's been a long time coming, but the Reiki study conducted at Harvard by members of the Center for Reiki Research (Dr. Natalie Dyer, Dr. Ann Baldwin, and William Rand) in 2015 and 2016 has now been accepted for publication in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine! This is the largest prospective Reiki study to date and hopefully will lead to more research.

A total of 1411 Reiki sessions were conducted and included in the analysis. Statistically significant improvements were observed for all outcomes of psychological and physical health, including pain, drowsiness, tiredness, nausea, appetite, shortness of breath, anxiety, depression, mood, and overall wellbeing, with moderate to large effect sizes (all p values < 0.001).
The results from this large-scale multi-site effectiveness trial suggest that a single session of Reiki improves physical and psychological health.
