Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Mycah Harrold, Marketing
When not researching or teaching, Dr. Harrold likes to quilt, paint, and hang with her dog, Moxie whom she has trained as a therapy dog partner. Meet Mycah!

R: What do you love most about teaching
MH: I love being creative & my profession allows me to be in new & challenging ways, especially in the classroom. As an example, when I teach about Pricing, I send the students on a scavenger hunt around campus to take pictures of prices & then help break down & understand them.
R: Do you have any advice for prospective students who are still undecided about college or choosing a major?
MH: I always encourage students to explore & be curious! College is such a magical time to expose yourself to new ideas/areas of study/people/professions/etc… You don’t have to have everything figured out. As a psychology major, I would have never guessed I’d end up in a college of business teaching marketing. But, I am so happy to be where I’m at!
R: What do you love most about Colorado?
MH: Coming from the Pacific Northwest, my favorite thing about Denver has definitely been all the sunshine! I always joke that I didn’t know that seeing the sun during the winter is a thing that happens.

Our professors are more than just teachers, they’re mentors. At Regis, you’re not just another face in the crowd. Apply now and get ready to live, learn and thrive at one of Colorado’s top-rated universities: regis.edu/apply link in bio

Hello, 2024! We just want to kick off the new year with an Admissions Counselor Spotlight: Meet Hannah!

R: What inspired you to become an Admissions Counselor?
H: I was a fourth-grade teacher and was looking for a way to transition out of teaching but continue building relationships with students. I didn’t know it at the time, but I’ve found a real passion for helping students explore their college options so they can choose the best pathway for them.

R: Did you attend Regis?
H: Yes, I am a Regis Alumni! I graduated with my B.A. in Elementary Education: Teaching for Social Justice. I also received certifications in Special Education and Culturally & Linguistically Diverse Education and minored in Spanish. I chose Regis because of the small community feel. I was terrified of going to college and leaving my family, but the people at Regis made me feel at home.

R: What advice would you give to students looking to attend college?
H: Trust your gut and the feeling you get when you visit each campus or attend each event throughout the process. You’ll know when you feel at home!

Thank you, Hannah! Choosing a college is a BIG deal and your dedication to ensuring students make the right decisions is invaluable 💙💛

We're thrilled to have Kaitlin as a panel speaker for tomorrow night's Direct Admissions Reception! Equally exciting is Aidan joining us as a student ambassador, ready to engage with prospective students and lead dynamic campus tours 💙💛

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: Meet Suleidy! As a senior studying Business Administration, Suleidy shares some nuggets of knowledge about what it’s like as a Regis student, a Work Study participant and what she values most about higher learning:

R: How did you hear about the work study program?
S: My first year I got an email that Regis had work study opportunities on campus. It’s exposed me to new experiences especially within marketing and has taught me more about what it’s like to be a part of a marketing team.

R: What was the deciding factor that made you choose Regis?
S: It’s close to home and has great programs no matter which area of study you choose. My sister is actually an alumni of Regis…I heard nothing but great things about the campus life, professors, and people—it made me want to come here even more.

R: What are you studying and love most about your program?
S: Business Administration. I love that my major places an emphasis on current events and learning, how to best navigate within the business world, how to go about opening your own business and what the most important factors are when you do.

R: What have you enjoyed most about your Regis learning experience:
S: I love the classroom sizes and the size of the school itself. Professors really try to get to know you and always want to hear your ideas in and outside of the classroom. They’re so helpful and it makes class feel very productive when you can have in class discussions.

Thank you, Suleidy! We can’t wait to celebrate you next spring! Don’t forget us after you graduate 😉

We are so excited to spotlight our English Department Chair and Professor Scott Dimovitz, who recently released his debut novel, The Joy Divisions, on Nov. 15. Learn more about Prof. Dimovitz:

R: How long have you been a professor at Regis?
D: Since 2008, although I have been teaching college since 1999
R: What inspired you to write The Joy Divisions?
D: ...events that happened in my young adulthood, when the textile factory where my father worked suddenly closed its doors after over 100 years, upending their entire local world. I also wanted to depict a vibrant working-class culture, which often gets stereotyped as a bunch of unintellectual hillbillies rather than as individuals with their own complex interests and passions
R: Tell us about your own academic journey
D: I was a working-class kid who went to a state school in Pennsylvania majoring in English and psychology. I went on to get my Ph.D. in modern and contemporary literature at NYU, where I focused on postmodern literature and film.
R: What advice would you give an aspiring writer who wants to write a book?
D: Read as much as you can whenever you can... All great writers are great readers. Oh, and actually writing words is far better than thinking about writing those words.

Thank you, Professor Dimovitz! We can’t wait to read your novel!

ADMISSIONS SPOTLIGHT:
Born in Guatemala and raised in Omaha, Antonio is the Assistant Director of Enrollment at Regis University. Get to know Antonio!

R: What inspired you to become an Admissions Counselor after graduating from Regis?
A: My passion for helping and encouraging others to pursue their dreams in higher education. I am a people person, so I love that I get to interact with students and their families… and help them make an important decision in their lives.
R: Why did you choose Regis for your undergrad?
A: It felt very welcoming from the beginning and I'm glad that I now get to embody and continue that.
R: What advice would you give to students about choosing a college?
A: Advocate for yourself. People won't always know your background or what you've lived/experienced and so being able to advocate for yourself is a vital skill to have when getting ready for college and life in general.

We love the energy that Antonio brings to the office and know you will too when you meet him one day. Thank you, Antonio!

Another amazing class you can join this fall!

04/19/2021

During your fall semester, all first-year students take RCC 200: First Year Writing. This is a writing-intensive seminar required for all students in the Fall of their first year at Regis. This seminar focuses on critical thinking by developing college-level skills in reading and writing. It also introduces student to their advisor and a core community of fellow students; students will take a paired first-year seminar in the spring with this same community of peers. The seminars are small—with no more than 17 students.

This week we will be introducing some of the classes that you can look forward to signing up for once you enroll at www.regis.edu/yes. Featured here is one of the most popular courses, “The Climbing Life” and don’t forget to follow (Office of First Year Experience) if you are an incoming first year student!

04/09/2021

📚🎉🦊Hybrid classes and those that were held virtually during the past year due to restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic will return to in-person instruction across the University’s three Denver campuses. Online and health profession programs will continue as normal.
