OutRegis! is a happy group of people passionate about improv, theatre, and comedy at Regis University. Like us or be sad.
We've done everything from improv shows to guerilla theatre, and are committed to bringing joy into everyone's lives. From doing improv on stage with the Farley Brothers and Danny Pudi from the show Community, to crashing the BSA's Hip Hop Night, to performing in several well-attended improv shows at Regis, OutRegis! has been busy at Regis, and plans to do more this semester, including two improv shows, guerilla theatre, film, and potentially a one-act play.
Thanks to everyone who came out to see us last night! Truly was one of the better shows we've had!!

How to Start Your Career in Comedy: A Guide for College Students | Splitsider So you want to work in comedy when you grow up? First of all, I'm really glad you’ve started reading Splitsider. You already know the first step of buildin
Well? Long form? Awesome, terrifying, thrilling, disastrous, educational, provocative, dizzying?
Let us not ask, "Should they have done the sketch?" but, "Should they have made clearer why they chose that particular scene to parody?" and "Should they have understood their audience better?" And, we don't know, because we weren't there. The only information we have is what appears in this article, which is insufficient. Comedy can elicit a reaction by being unreflective, boneheaded, and privileged-- silly, stupid, ignorant of its power and dismissive of its context-- or elicit a transformative response by being provocative, outrageous, pointed, and audience-centered. Maybe the sketch was well-done and genuinely funny and a few people over-reacted without even having seen it themselves (social media makes distant critics of all of us without providing nearly enough information). Or, maybe it was ill-considered, ham-handed and sophomoric. It doesn't matter that they did it: let us all make many, many mistakes in life and not be afraid to do so.
For me, the questions are "Was the sketch well-done and framed in a way that any thinking audience should have understood its spirit and its meaning?" and "Did it provoke interesting and productive dialogue about racism, community, free speech, and living in a democracy?" Read the comments after the article and decide.
K*K skit shocks Wheaton College campus An incident involving Wheaton College football players who dressed up in Ku Klux Klan robes as part of a parody of the Will Smith film "Bad Boys II" has rocked the college's campus, which already has been reeling from two other recent high-profile incidents.
