🇺🇸 Women Veterans Recognition Day! 🇺🇸

On June 12, we commemorate Women Veterans Day, a significant date in U.S. history. It marks the anniversary of the Women's Armed Services Integration Act, signed into law by President Harry S. Truman in 1948. Prior to this groundbreaking legislation, only women nurses could serve in the regular and reserve forces during peacetime.

Let's take a moment to recognize and celebrate the incredible contributions of women who have served in the U.S. military since its inception. Their courage, dedication, and resilience have shaped our nation's defense and inspired generations.

Leaders at all levels must continue to conduct safety briefings and reinforce local and Army wide policy when it comes to driving on and off duty.

Safety is NEVER just a date on a calendar.

You can't drive safely unless the task has your FULL attention:
📵 Never text while driving.
🍔 Don't eat behind the wheel.
🎶 Don't get distracted by your stereo.
💄 Never apply makeup while driving.

Honoring the Heroes of D-Day: 80 Years Later

Today, we commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day, a pivotal moment in history that marked the beginning of the end of World War II. On June 6, 1944, Allied forces bravely stormed the beaches of Normandy, France, in a daring operation that changed the course of the war.

We honor the incredible courage, sacrifice, and determination of the soldiers who fought on that fateful day. Their bravery in the face of overwhelming odds will never be forgotten.

Let us take a moment to remember and pay tribute to the heroes of D-Day, whose legacy of freedom and democracy continues to inspire us today.

Each May, we observe and reflect on the tremendous contributions of Asian American and Pacific Islanders to our country and history.

Even though exclusionary laws prevented citizenship throughout the 19th and much of the 20th century, Asian American and Pacific Islanders have served in the Army since the Civil War.

AAPI Soldiers have served with honor and distinction, and their courage and selfless service will inspire generations to come.
