Kay Stinson has only missed one Grandma's Marathon the past 18 years, and that was because of back surgery.

Despite not starting until she was 60, Stinson has now done several races across the country including the Disney Half Marathon. Grandma's is where it all started, though, and she says it's still her favorite (awwwww 😍).

Stinson hopes be at the start line at least until she's 80, which would give her an even 20 Grandma's Marathons. We can't wait to see you in June for No. 18, Kay!

Last year's Grandma's Marathon happened to fall on Jennifer Chladek's birthday, June 22. She was at Mile 25 in downtown Duluth when she spotted her friend, Lisa, who was cheering and ringing cowbells with her entire family. The positive and upbeat crowd took her mind off the pain in her feet and helped push her through to the finish!

"The best part is all the spectators and encouragement. I'm so thankful for all my friends and family who came out to cheer for my dad and me. That and all the strangers who wished me a happy birthday because I wore a sash. Hey, why not?!"

Jennifer moved to Duluth after attending UMD and now loves going out for a run on the area's beautiful array of lakes, trails, hills, and woods.

Last year, this race reached its capacity near Thanksgiving. This year, we reached the limit in LESS THAN 36 HOURS 🤯🤯

The only options left to participate in what looks to be a record-setting 2025 Grandma's Marathon weekend are:

MORNING UPDATE: Another BIG thank you to everyone who stuck with us through some long delays last night. We are always humbled by the huge interest in our race, and lots of people showed great amounts of grace and patience last night as we worked through some queue and server issues.

As it stands, we have close to 14,000 people already registered for our 2025 race weekend --- it was our LARGEST EVER opening day, and we have all of you to thank for that.

5,000 or so more are currently still in the queue. This has been our biggest opening day rush ever, which is a good problem to have but we do completely understand the frustration with the wait.
