What a blessing of a week it’s been. The team is almost complete on our big house project in Beaumont. We got to partner and team up with Discover Church this past weekend for their “Second Sunday Serve Ministry” They had almost 65 volunteers show up and work on 6 projects in the community. We got to work on a much needed wheelchair ramp with them for a family who had huge immediate need. We want to invite people and sponsors to our event on August 24th at Courville’s in Beaumont. We still have seats available.

What a week! Our team has been working in Beaumont finalizing a huge home project. Today they let some texture dry at that home and ran out and completed a much needed wheelchair ramp in Green Acres. God has blessed our team in so many ways which in turn allows us to bless those that need our help in the community. We are looking for volunteer groups who would like to come be a part of the projects and blessings we have going on at Nehemiah’s Vision. Individually or as a group reach out to us today and come be a part of a day job or week long mission or work trip. Your work will directly impact the quality of life of our clients!

What an amazing week at Bon Weir Baptist church. We had a group from Burning Bush Baptist Church in Georgia in for the week. They helped rebuild after the flooding here. And helped with the building of the new Sanctuary too! Amazing to see Pastor Lance and his congregation receive this blessing. We have more work to do in Newton and Jasper County! So if you want to volunteer as a church group, civic organization or an individual please reach out to us!

We have partnered with Jasper County and Newton County Long Term Recovery to assist with some of the latest flood damage that has occurred this spring in these areas. We are assisting rebuilding the Baptist Church in Bon Weir and a home in the Call area this week. We were blessed to have a mission trip in from Georgia for the week. One of our board members brought an amazing group in and are providing huge blessings to this church and the home they are working on this week! We have a huge need for volunteer groups, mission trips and volunteers through the end of the year to get 15 or so other homes complete. We have secured housing for groups that want to come help! Our team has been working extremely hard to finish our joint project with Catholic Charities and United Way in Beaumont. This was a complete gut out/rebuild, including new roof and windows, doors and more. Here are some before and after pictures. A couple more weeks and this family will have their home back brand new! They have been struggling since Hurricane Imelda to get these repairs done. Partnerships and volunteers are so important to get these types of major projects completed.

We are very thankful to have been invited to the St. Marks Episcopal community grant ceremony. There are so many community non profits who received blessings along side of us. This program puts funds back in to the community which St Mark’s raises throughout the year and touches so many lives in so many ways. We are so thankful to have been a recipient

The guys have been doing amazing things at one of our complete home rebuilds. A few more weeks and this project may be done God willing. We are so blessed and thankful for our partners on this project that made it possible! If you would like to volunteer with us please message us today!

The weather has been so volatile in Southeast Texas the last few weeks. We have been partnering with several other non profit partners trying to help these families affected by the flooding and tornado force winds. If you would like to volunteer with some of the recovery efforts please contact us to see how you can help.

We got to go be part of true collaboration and partnership meeting in Jasper on Friday with so many who are truly trying to help every family affected by the flooding in Jasper,Newton and Tyler Counties. If you are affected and need assistance contact the local Jasper Newton County long term recovery group. There are many of us wanting and willing to help and assist in getting assets and resources for those affected.

Our Kountze, Texas project was completed this week as well after our student volunteers started it last week. An elderly couple with medical conditions got their home back……

Our team has been hard at work on one of our projects in Port Arthur. The client, a bi lateral amputee and her family now have full access to the house for her. Major internal floor renovations, internal ramps. To go along with the external ramp our college mission trip accomplished.

We got word this evening that faith based organizations will be setting up their “muck out” teams in Kirbyville. Residents affected by the flooding have requested assistance getting their houses cleaned out and ready for dry out. We have been asked to see if any churches, groups or individuals would like to sign up to volunteer to be on these teams. Please contact us if you would like to volunteer to help and we can get you partnered up with the teams.

Amazing group of Highschool kids and their leaders from Tulsa this week. Helping an elderly couple that had wind damage in the past and then medical issues caused things to get away from them. They are half complete. We will post before and after pictures once completed. You can see the transformation occurring. New skirting all around the mobile home

As you lay your head down to sleep tonight pray for families in Jasper,Newton, Hardin Counties affected by the recent flooding. Water rushed through one clients home so fast it knocked over appliances. There will not be national news on this because it’s a smaller community. But they need the same help as a Category 5 named storm. If you would like to volunteer with us for clean up and rebuild efforts.
