Dr. Jessica Slade, Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Teacher Education Department-College of Education at UTEP, was recently honored by the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children (TXAEYC) as “Teacher Educator of the Year, 2022”. Dr. Slade accepted her award from TXAEYC Executive Director Cody Summerville in a ceremony on September 17, 2022 in San Antonio. ⛏️

Drs. Alyse Hachey and Jessica Slade from UTEP Teacher Education are joined by Professor Castanon Williams (El Paso Community College) at the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children's conference (TXAEYC) in San Antonio. The trio were there to share information on the new, 100% fully online, EPCC-UTEP transfer pathway that leads to the Bachelor of Science in Education- Concentration in Early Childhood Care & Education. TXAEYC has just made qualifying students in this degree pathway eligible for scholarships covering 90% of tuition and book costs.
