The Fairbanks International Friendship Day's mission is to promote cultural awareness, appreciation, respect and unity in our culturally diverse community.

It takes place 3rd Saturday of October annually from 12-5.

Listening to ”Live At The Bon Soir” CD
Recorded in November 1962 but just released on Barbara Streisand’s 60th Anniversary as a Columbia recording artist.
It was reviewed on NPR recently and wonderfully engineered by Jochem van der Saag. A real award winning singer.

International Friendship Day in Fairbanks, AK will be on October 15, 2022, Saturday afternoon 1-5. Masks will be required and social distancing will be observed. This event is free and family friendly. Performances will take place 1:30-5 PM and some small snacks are provided.

World Ice Art Championships are almost over here in Fairbanks, 2022. March 14-17 is the youth classic competition and awards will be March 18.

YouTube in your search engine and then the above location and three video/photo collections will be found. Thanks to the many groups who have volunteered to celebrate virtually in this unusual year. We are social distancing to stop this virus.
Hope to see you all next year for the 35th celebration at Pioneer Park. Thanks also to the volunteers who have reached out to the many groups in our diverse community for helping to invite participants.

An ad will appear shortly in the Newsminer for the Fairbanks International Friendship Day to publicize the YouTube URL link for our 34th year of celebration. There will be an article in the paper on Saturday, October 10, and an item in Lat 65 on Thursday, October 15. Thanks to the participants who were able to put together recordings of our cultural varieties during the time of COVID-19. Thanks, Rosalind for your time on this.

The volunteer committee is planning to do a virtual celebration on Oct. 17, 2020. Groups are invited to send shortMP4 recordings which show participants celebrating cultural performances like dances & instrumental pieces, traditional clothing, & photos of food to Rosalind Kan or Fe Seymour by August 31, 2020. Family members are encouraged to participate by using social distancing. Thanks. Carolyn Gray, Volunteer.
The committee meets on Sundays in Aug. by Zoom at 2 PM.
