Yes, I'm still here! After a much needed social media detox...it's time to share some of my work. I don't know where to begin because I have a lot to share. With a little surprise visual to look forward to (hopefully) by the end of next week sometime. My creative heart has been surging!

I've been busy really exploring the fine art process of my work. I'm a maximalist who has spent many years trying to suppress that part of my persona through minimalism (which distinctly also has it's place in my work). I absolutely love this set with all the floral details. I love the curves on the chair, the texture in the lingerie and the hair in contrast to smooths skin and feminine qualities of the lovely subjects I work with. Fascinating!

I remember this day. I remember this client. I remember taking these photos and being awestruck at the quality of the detail. To be surprised by your work after this many years means that I truly enjoy what I do. Every woman should see herself in this way.

Be back with more in the coming days/weeks. If you are a personal friend of mine or in my Curated Life group...I'll be visiting with my heart on my sleeve soon, I promise. I have a lot to share

12/13/2023

Working with women and showing them how beautiful they are is by far the best thing I could have ever chosen to do. I book these shoots to help pay to run my hobby...no joke! And with that, the year is closing soon and I have one opening left for 2023.

December 29th at 9am is open! If you want it - you can book a bo***ir, a fine art, a lifestyle session! Packages are online at www.yvonnedenault.com/bo***ir/investment -- drop a DM to claim the spot!

I'm VERY behind on sharing photos. I was so excited to photograph this woman. First of all - STUNNING! And I learned we had a great deal in common - it was like hanging out with my bestie for the day!

Part of the experience in my studio is feeling at home, as though you are in your own home. It should be that comfortable. I really get to know each one of my clients. By the time you leave, we are likely going to be friends. And I love that about my job - it's one of the reasons I came back to do this again.

A bo***ir shoot is part of a healing journey to "see" yourself. To see the love in and for yourself. Because all love for others starts from within.

I saw these photos in a post a week ago and it made me chuckle. I remember seeing my grandmas and aunts in photos posing with their Christmas trees. I thought it would be fun to bring this concept back!

OKAAAAYYY! :: BLACK FRIDAY CONTINUES ::

I promised myself I wasn't going to "promo package" my fine art -- BUT, I've had so many requests to create a special opportunity for this style. The actual time that goes in to creating the fine art set, taking the photos and editing is a great deal more than any other shoot I offer. As you know, the results are astounding and the women in my portraits look like they stepped out of a painting.

The easy part is -- there is no need to buy a fancy lingerie piece. You'll need a n**e thong and that's it. You just show up. I wrap you in fabrics and create the ancient scene around you using color and textures.

I'm only offering EIGHT SESSIONS. That's it - because I'm practically giving these away (include hair/makeup, digital file finished art and prints). Take advantage of this while you can, because I'm not sure I'll ever do a promo like this one again! Fill out the form here to sign up: www.yvonnedenault.com/fineart

11/20/2023

Thank you to all you beautiful women who booked our Black Friday offer! The bookings are officially closed for that promotion. AND January is officially BOOKED with only 2 more openings for February available.

We've got another promotion dropping tomorrow night for a different shoot style. Be ready -- there will only be 8 openings for this next round and I've been messaged the last two days from several of you to do these type of shoots. After the Thanksgiving holiday, look for family mini's to post as well for one heck-of-a-deal! Sessions will be limited.

AND LASTLY - please put December 7th on your calendar for a SAVE-THE-DATE to visit the studio. This would be a great opportunity for those of you who booked to come and check out the set designs and for anyone thinking of booking to do the same. The studio is an experience in, and of itself!

I don't just photograph beautiful women... I photograph beautiful nature. Thank you to Floret & Foliage for sharing a little bouquet with me a few weeks ago. You have exquisite taste in flora 🌹

Photos from Bo***ir Photography by Yvonne Denault's post 11/17/2023

Since posting the promo yesterday, I've received some DM's and texts regarding if you could use the promo for a branding or lifestyle shoot. The answer is YES!

So for those women who are really shy and uncertain about the bo***ir aspect of having your photo taken -- it doesn't have to be a bo***ir shoot. I really wish I could help every woman see how much ANY photoshoot can just boost your self-confidence. Just do something and record your history in photos!

I see all the money spent on lip fillers, botox, nails, eyelash extensions, hair color, fashion, etc. Why are you all doing that? Ask yourself -- to look and feel better about your presentation to the rest of the world. But yet -- here you are in your own right absolutely stunning (without all of that, in honesty). But you aren't seeing it from the depths of your inner soul.

THAT is what a photo session does for you. One that is focused on strengthening your self-love and embracing the gift of living. One that respects you, your body and celebrates the gift of the temple God created in you. No matter where you are in your life. Beauty has no boundaries.

This lovely woman scheduled an amazing branding session (I'll share more from this shoot in parts because it was simply perfect). These make great profile photos, business shots, branding or influencer photos -- or just a set of photos you can print for yourself. This is all you need. For you.

Today I attended the Love Your Locals event in Fargo. I met some really fabulous small business owners and had great conversations with women who were interested in my photography services.

Do you know what I heard a lot today? “I don’t like how I look”. I’m really trying to figure out the psyche of women and comprehend why many of us get to that place. For example, I struggle with going out without makeup. I have melasma and I’m ashamed of it — and deep down, ashamed of me as a result. I am going to hit 50 in December and let’s just say things are not in the same place, my body “feels” my age a bit and I’m feeling the need to wear readers and color my hair more often. Let’s not forget those extra pounds that are harder to trim after hitting menopause.

So, I DO get it. But, I take the photo anyway. Here’s me with bad lighting, after an exhausting hot mess look for a work day. That’s my sidekick hanging with me 🤣

Advice: Take the damn photo. With your phone. With a camera. Make a family member take the group shot with you in it. Set up a tripod. Book professional family photos. Take selfies. Better yet, let me take your photos! Then continue to take photos and love the way you look. Stop analyzing. No one else is analyzing you.

You need to leave a visual memory of YOU and your time on this earth. And timestamp your beauty as it evolves. It always evolves… it never disappears 🩷

Photos from Bo***ir Photography by Yvonne Denault's post 11/06/2023

Every time I get an opportunity to pick up my camera and show another woman just how stunning she is - I am blessed. Every woman has the timeless qualities of grace, beauty and elegance.

A bo***ir shoot is first and foremost a self-care session that boosts your confidence and gives you something tangible to see your external beauty. But honestly, it's the feeling you get from the shoot itself that lasts and is worth the investment.

Some of the most common things I hear at shows and events where women book:

1) I'm scared to do that because I don't think I'll look that good.
So, you aren't going to look like anyone else in the photos I share. You'll look like you - just the supermodel version of you that you might now even realize you are!

2) I'm awkward. I'm overweight, I'll wait until I lose weight to do this. I'm too old for a shoot like this. I'll feel stupid.
I get all of the above feelings because I can relate to every single sentiment. I coach you through the entire shoot. You will never be left to figure things out on your own no matter how awkward you think you are. You are never the wrong size or age -- you are beautiful and worth celebrating at every stage of your life. Please leave it to me to put you in the best flattering poses for you. I know what I'm doing - promise.

3) Who would I ever give these photos to?
YOU. End of story. If you have someone you want to share them with -- great! But the primary and ONLY reason you should do a bo***ir shoot is to empower yourself first. These are your photos and your memories of the life you are living.

We would love to see you in our studio whether it's for the first time or as a repeat client. My stylist team and I absolutely LOVE what we do. Bookings are open for 2024 (with a few openings still available for November/December if you want to get in sooner).

This makes me want to pick up the paintbrush again. I CAN paint - just not to this level of detail (I think). I guess you can do anything if you set your mind to doing it. Thank God for photography and imagination that allow my visions to come to life. If I could do this all day, every day -- I would.

Can you imagine getting up each day and creating something just for the sake of creation? These fine art portraits have that kind of value to me. I love when a client just trusts the creative process.

Question I get asked A LOT -- can I book a session like this. YES! You can. And the best part is you don't need to shop for lingerie. Your body is a work of art and that's really all we need!

Hello friends!
If you don’t know me yet, I’m Yvonne — a simple photographer with a love for photographing women. I know it’s been awhile since I posted. Believe me, it’s not for lack of content! I have been busy in the studio and have a great number of stunning images from many beautiful women who have graced my studio. I will be sharing once things slow down a bit.

But, I’ll be honest. I’ve been going through my own “stuff”. Maybe you can call it a mid-life crisis. I’m going to be 50 in December. And when I think about it — I really DON'T care because it's simply a number in the social construct of time. But I am definitely sitting in a spin cycle – waiting for something to shift where I feel like I’m embracing myself again and have “arrived”. That’s really up to me though to step out of the spin.

I decided today to actually put makeup on and wear my hair down instead of in a messy bun (which is most days). And to wear a top other than a tee with a bra that isn’t a sports bra. I think I needed to know I can clean up when I want to. This photo is straight off the camera. And since I really don’t have anyone to take my photos, I need to do my own once in awhile to see myself externally. There is value in that.

I’m sharing this because THIS is the biggest reason women come in to my studio — they are stuck in the spin cycle. We are all different; yet, much the same. We base a lot of our self worth on our appearance. Don’t apologize or think it's vain…we’ve been kind of trained to be like that by the world around us. I am no different. I’m not happy with the extra weight that is hard to eliminate due to going through menopause. I’m not excited about the fine lines starting to appear and the grey hairs that are starting to become more numerous. I’ve watched my eye color and hair texture change. I’ve got varicose veins on my legs, and stretch marks on my chest. And I'm tired. I’m so imperfect — but I couldn’t be any more perfect. I know that on the surface level. But, it’s getting that concept to register in my heart. I need my own services, I guess!

Are you there too? I want you to know that I see you. I see you out and about doing your shopping and running errands when I am doing the same. I see you at work mid shift when you are feeling like you want to just go home, but you put that smile on your face regardless because you care about what you do. I see the moms who never get a break whether they work in or out of the home. I see you even when your husband or significant other does not see you. Because I know what it’s like to be unseen. And we all just want someone to notice we are still here doing our best.

I’d love to meet you in the studio for a shoot. It’s an investment, let’s not dance around that part. It’s an investment because with me, you will get every ounce of my energy and desire to reinstate the love you had for yourself…or to help you see it for the first time. It’s a whole day for you to be pampered; and an entire day of editing and composition to showcase your beauty in an album for a lifetime gift to yourself. And it can actually change your mindset - FOREVER. It’s not just a photo, ladies; it’s an experience! I should rename what I do “a healing journey” because that’s really what it is.

Reach out if you are interested or need to visit further about a shoot. I take limited sessions each month but still have openings this year to give you that boost you need.

Love to you all!

I relish every opportunity I get to do a fine art session. They probably look a bit reckless. in a way, they kind of are. While hair/makeup is part of the process, it's a bit of an organic type of shoot. I change it as I go.

Most of my clients come in with no pre-conceived ideas of what they want. Which is is probably why most of the clients booking fine art sessions are those who have shot with me before and trust me to just "create".

Each woman would probably tell you that it's not so easy to follow all of my instructions. In fact, you might leave a bit...sore. Fine art sessions mean a lot of twisting, contortion, flexing and holding the pose for extended periods. It's like "bo***ir yoga". But the results are so entirely worth it!

You've seen this beauty before. I always love having her in my studio.

So you don't know what to wear for your shoot. I want you to see how simple this is. My beautiful client brought in some of her husband's favorite things (her...of course), some "Daisy Dukes", cowboy boots, a white bra, a hat, his favorite liquor, and some accessories that fit their life on the farm.

The results? Stunning photos personalized by aspects of her life that she loves and holds dear. It's a fabulous gift to her spouse. But if I'm being honest, I sincerely hope she got way more benefit from this session. We women need to see our beauty. And we need to see it often so it reminds us that the affirmation for loving ourselves can truly come from within.

I mean, I don't NEED my husband to tell I'm beautiful. It's really nice when he does. But, knowing in your heart that you can see yourself in that way releases a lot of unnecessary, untrue thoughts about yourself. Sometimes we have to physically see if for ourselves.

I still have a few openings for September (but not many) -- otherwise it's October and beyond. Book early for properly planning your shoot and getting the most benefit out of a session like this.

If you've ever wondered what I'm referring to with a fine art shoot, this is it! It's a bit more artistic, raw and with my work...a bit on the darker side of things.

This was a personal project. It's one of the reasons I work so hard...to make money, to pay for a studio to do...this. I really do love the art of the "Old World" and it is somewhat of a challenge to create a painterly image with a camera. You have to create and design the set, have the right wardrobe, the right hair & makeup styling, and have a subject who is able and willing to follow instructions, as strange as they may seem.

You have to be able to see the edited final and figure out how to get to that with a RAW image from your camera. It's not always easy getting the color right or creating the right texture. Many times I have to add in or take out components of the shot to perfect it.

These are the photos you might print and hang on your wall. They are meant to be art. You are art. You are meant to be celebrated.

Last night we had out Summer Pop-up event and it was great to see familiar and new faces, and quite a few bookings.

You can STILL get in on the discount (see details in the post graphic). Drop me a DM or contact me through my website to get the ball rolling. If you are headed out for the Fourth of July weekend -- don't fret -- just drop me a message and tell me. you want the offer, but need too finalize when you return (and I'll honor the discount).

This beautiful lady is a perfect example of how simply changing an outfit can go from a traditional bo***ir to a more modern approach. I love the varied personalities and creativity in outfit planning. Also, note the way light and posing is used to wrap the body. I have more than 15 years of experiencing using controlled lighting and have mastered light painting! PS. I'm in love with BW photography.

***A few notes, September is almost fully booked. I could fit two more shoots in that month -- but all bookings can go out as far as December***

We spent a good deal of time moving that chair, figuring out the right pose and getting the right lighting. This shoot was the beginning of my new beginning and I felt...rusty...holding that camera in my hands awkwardly as if it was my first time all over again. I was fortunate to be working with a friend and fellow amazing creative who was patient with my constant shifting of ideas until I achieved what looked natural and intuitive. In the end, I pulled away from the natural light, shut the curtains and got out my studio lights where I felt most at ease and knew what I could do.

Why am I sharing this? Because I'm guessing in whatever you do...you are much like me...awkward. Figuring it out as you go, perhaps. Wondering if everyone else knows how you feel slightly inadequate.

I walked through most of my photography career experiencing extreme imposter syndrome. And like a lousy friend... that damn imposter snake has shown up again and taken a seat in the back of my mind to watch me agonize over my own perceived shortcomings. Perfectionism? Perhaps. Doubt? Maybe. Lack of interest and creative inspiration? Never.

I'll tell you some of the most talented people deal with it - daily. I would not say I'm one of the most talented people...but YOU may be. And it can hold you back from showing what you are made of.

A bo***ir photoshoot is one way to strike a blow to that imposter mentality setting up residence in your head. We don't just do it with our jobs...we grate on our appearance, our inner desires, our love for ourself... as if we are not deserving of anything positive. Empowerment means to quiet those voices and let the truth be heard instead.

Take your photo. Or let ME take your photo. You are worthy of that investment in yourself.

There are those perfect shots...and then there is this 🔥

Some images ingrain in my mind. I remember the conversation, the moment before the shot – and the one following. I love that a photograph immortalizes the moment...less than a second, in reality. Photography may perhaps have been the most important technological advance ever created for that reason alone. It captures...history.

I'm here to capture her-story. Moments of it – but I know that every woman who has these images looks back on them for years beyond that less-than-a-second moment. And she remembers the way she felt loved in her own heart.

Shooting in the dark is where I shine. Seems impossible, doesn't it? Most photographers CRAVE the natural light. And I do love it - but this is my home. It is still. It is protected. And I can control it while allowing my subject to be less inhibited.

We women love the shadows when it comes to our bodies. It doesn't matter how fit we are. How we may even be in our prime. Those shadows wrap around the body and create "glimpses" of who a woman is and how she sees herself – a mystery.

It's an unusual thing when you discover something new after walking this earth half a century. For some reason, you think you've seen, heard and done it all. Never true.

I always thought I topped out on my work and what I was capable of. That there was nothing new to try. I pride myself on not copying the other big names out there. I've trained with some of the greats, but take a little piece to make it my own. I respect what others create and want to be myself.

I was not trained in natural light. I also rarely utilized textures. And I avoided the absence of light unless I had complete control of the light. All the opposite here and it's breathtaking. Thank you to my collaborative geniuses:
