✨Therapy is political✨
It’s rough out here fam.
Babyyyyyyy we (Therapists) can chew bubblegum - walk - talk - a little nappy nap - do them notes 🥲- call for change - do trauma work - teach regulation skills - club - party - video game - 🍃🍃🍃 - complete ceus + all of the same time while saying f the system.
You can talk 💩 about being a therapist while still doing radical work. TBH, most of my sessions are still heavily trauma work using EMDR, SE, Brainspotting (all of that jazz) not EVERYONE wants to talk about politics, or systemic oppression. But, they know that if they ever did, I would radically hold space and explore their concerns deeper. Thats what Therapy is Political means for me✨
This is not a topic to debate.
Why do we reduce the complexity of human connection to mere survival skills?
Is this where we are going - commodify our relationships - reducing people down based on attachment? How is that leading to deeper meaningful connections?
Embracing each other’s differences, understanding, and supporting growth can lead to richer, more authentic relationships.
Let’s celebrate the beauty in diversity rather than categorizing and excluding based on attachment styles. Love and connection know no fixed molds.
This weekend has made me reflect on multiple things:
-i cannot control and create a safe place without tearing myself down.
-black women are allowed to be curious.
-holding more compassion for myself and others.
-i want to exist in this world more bravely, and authentic.
-i need to sit with being misunderstood.i need to sit with what my soul knows.
-safety is subjective.
-commuNITY exists - even when it feels far.
-i got this babe. So do you ✨
Allow this post to settle within your nervous system. My strongest values I hold as a therapist, is not assuming I know what’s best for the person. Please take care of yourself. As always, I am sending so much compassion, ease, and love for all of you. I will continue to try to respond to people in my DMs and comments. -Pat ✨
This is a question I often reflect. I understand very VALID decisions for people going no-contact!! I am more curious about how quick we cut off people is fueling hyperindividualism.
Thoughts 💭
At this moment, the necessity for somatics in the pursuit of liberation is paramount. Somatic practices offer a vital pathway to embodying and reclaiming our authentic selves, fostering a transformative journey towards liberation.
ABA is abuse.
I’m kinda cranky today.
Recognizing the need for decolonization or adopting an Anti-Colonial and Liberation lens in therapy involves acknowledging that numerous mainstream healing modalities have origins in (Non)-Western and Indigenous healing practices. This perspective emphasizes the importance of honoring diverse cultural and indigenous approaches to healing, challenging the dominance of Western-centric models, and working towards a more inclusive and equitable therapeutic framework.
✨Healing in many ways is an act of resistance✨
Repost: The latest global strike for Palestine is underway after Bisan called for collective action to end the genocide in Gaza. We wanted to share some hot tips & words of encouragement as we all root ourselves in the sacredness of International Solidarity to demand an end to the violence and occupation.
We understand that not every strategy is possible for everyone. Striking is afforded to all of us, it doesn’t have to mean one thing, but does invite you all to radically imagine how you and your community can collectively disrupt this harmful system so they pay attention. ❤️Make a plan of what you can commit to, it could be emailing your representatives, calling people in your community to have deep meaningful conversations with them about Free Palestine, disrupting your work by making a presentation making a point about a specific area of interest in regards to the Genocide. Remember, this genocide is a human rights issue, a womens rights issue, a war on children, a disability rights issue, a climate issue, there are various ways you can engage with your work and community and disrupting the comfort and business as usual in order to make a difference.
The point is: No business as usual during a genocide.
Free Palestine.
Hyper-individualism refers to a cultural belief system that places high value on individual autonomy, personal achievement, and self-reliance, often at the expense of communal ties and collective responsibility. While individualism can foster innovation, personal freedom, and self-determination, hyper-individualism can impact our ability to connect with each other in several ways:
✨ Erosion of Community Bonds ✨
When individual achievements are prioritized over collective well-being, community bonds can weaken. This can lead to a decline in social capital, which refers to the networks and relationships that facilitate collective action for mutual benefit.
✨Loneliness and Isolation✨
An emphasis on self-sufficiency can lead to isolation, as people may be less likely to reach out for help or engage in communal activities. The resulting loneliness can be detrimental to mental and physical health.
✨Empathy and Understanding✨
Hyper-individualism can erode empathy, as the focus on the self may come at the expense of understanding and considering others’ perspectives. This might lead to less cooperation and more conflict between individuals and groups.
This list is not exhaustive.
I’ll be spending sometime eating comfort foods, cozy gaming, and doing some unlearning today ✨
Amy, The Legendary Queen - has me asking every day, what kind of fuxXkery is this?

& it’s not always due to “lack of knowledge on the parents”. - from being raised with immigrant mom who tried to get her daughter help at one point only to be turned away from the system.
& yes I understand you can be diagnosed with more than one.
What kind of fXxXkery is this?

Repost inclusivetherapists Silence and neglect within the mental health field are forms of psychological warfare.
We demand immediate response, accountability, and reparative actions for the mental health field’s perpetuation of trauma through its complicity in the ongoing gen*c1de in Palest1n3 where over 20,000 people have been killed, 8000+ being children.

Reclaiming the original roots of self-care as a liberation act of resistance. Our elders, revolunatries, and ancestors offered deep medicine. The act of liberation is an ongoing practice - liberation is a political warfare.
Please consider the labor you are asking for individuals that lived in marginalized bodies.
