A huge thank you to Al Lampkins for the invitation and to all the organizations listening to my endless rambling about su***de prevention.
I know we can unite and work together to make a lasting change within our community and break the stigmas surrounding Su***de, mental health and substance abuse..
The losses families suffer from su***de and substances is so great. We are the only ones who can change that.

Yesterday's Overdose Awareness Day event at Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC, was truly inspirational. We gathered as a community to honor those we've lost and to stand together in the fight against substance use disorders. There were moments of reflection, and yes, a few tears were shed, but more than anything, we felt a renewed sense of hope and unity.
This event reminded us all of the importance of breaking the stigmas surrounding addiction and bringing compassion and humanity to those affected by substance use disorders. Together, we can create a supportive environment where healing and recovery are possible for everyone. Thank you for inviting us to this event.

We never truly know the battles someone might be facing behind closed doors. Mental health struggles often go unseen, but that doesnโt mean they arenโt real. It's so important to reach out, check in on your loved ones, and be there to offer a helping hand or a listening ear.
Today, we remember Zoe Sykes and the light she brought into the world. May her memory remind us all to spread kindness, compassion, and to stand strong in the fight for su***de prevention. Your voice and presence could be the difference in someone's life.
