Emerging Hearts Mental Wellness Center
Emerging Hearts is a faith based private practice offering only Telehealth sessions in the state of North Carolina.
We primarily help women of color who are struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, and trauma to manage their souls.
Remembering Lives, Raising Awareness
Today, on Overdose Awareness Day, we at Emerging Hearts honor the lives lost to overdose and extend our support to those still struggling.
Overdose is preventable, and awareness is key. If you or someone you love is battling addiction, remember that help is available. Let's break the stigma, share resources, and advocate for compassionate care. Together, we can save lives. 💜

Let's rewrite your story together. It's time to break free from the chains of the past.
Ready to embrace a brighter future? Take the first step. Reach out for support.

In addition to private pay we accept the following insurances at our private practice.
Taking the first step towards better mental health shouldn't be stressful. Let's work together to achieve your goals.
If you’re struggling with anxiety pray and meditate (medicate) on this word.
Just like you’d take your medicine for a diagnosis the doctor would give you. Take this scripture and medicate in it every four hours or however you’re led of the Spirit.
Also remember that you don’t have to do life alone. There is safety in a multitude of wise counsel. Seek out support and be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Emotional healing is sacred work. Take a moment today to honor your journey. What practices nourish your soul?

Girl!!! Stop using Google to diagnose your mental health symptoms.
Be careful, about coming into agreement with things just because it feels/looks/sounds or seems right.
Don’t give legal access to things that were never suppose to be.
Now you’ve come into agreement with Bipolar Disorder and you were just dealing with complex trauma.
OR
You’ve come in to agreement with ADHD and it’s just some anxiety.

Fear triggers anxiety
We all experience fear in some way -it's our body's way of saying "watch out!" But sometimes, fear can quickly turn into anxiety, leaving us feeling worried and overwhelmed.
The major difference is 👇🏾👇🏾
• Fear (the emotion) is like a laser focused on a specific threat (public speaking , spiders, etc).
• Anxiety (the feeling) is more scattered, like a cloud of worry
🚨 What makes it worse?🚨
Uncertain situations or past experiences can trigger anxiety, even if there's no immediate danger.
🚨 How can you cope?🚨
Identifying your triggers is the first step!
Once you know what triggers your anxiety, you can develop healthy coping mechanisms. Deep breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, and talking to a therapist can all be super helpful.
Girl are you feeling the pressure to “be strong” and “have it all together”⁉️
We all know the feeling. The pressure to be the strong Black woman, the one who carries the weight of the world on her shoulders and never breaks a sweat. The one who juggles faith, family, career, and community all with a smile. But let's be real….SIS, sometimes that pressure feels like it's gonna crush us.
LISTEN‼️ I’m here to let you know that it's okay to not have it all together. It's okay to not be ok. Even the most powerful Queen needs a break sometimes. We are human, worthy of rest and grace.
Here's the truth: Your strength is undeniable. Your faith is beautiful. But you don't have to do it all alone. Lean on your sisters, lean on your Savior lean on your community, engage your resources. There's power in community, in sharing your burdens.
So let's rewrite the narrative. Let's be strong Black women who know their worth, but who also know it's okay to say "I need help." We are enough, exactly as we are. ✨
If you're struggling, please reach out to a therapist or counselor. You don't have to go through this alone. There are people who care and want to help.
Depression is not a weakness that you can just snap out of, it’s a mental health condition that should be taken seriously. Depression is more than just feeling sad or going through something difficult. It affects how we think, feel, and function daily. Depression is very common and can affect anyone no matter your economic status.
Signs of Depression:
📍 Persistent sadness, emptiness, hopelessness, or pessimism
📍 Loss of interest in activities once enjoyed
📍 Changes in appetite, unplanned weight changes, and sleep difficulty
📍 Fatigue or lack of energy
📍 Feelings of worthlessness or excessive guilt
📍 Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
📍 Thoughts of death or su***de
You don’t have to suffer in silence. It’s ok to ask for help. If you or someone you know is struggling, don’t hesitate to reach out for support. 💚💚
While life continues to life, we often forget to pause and take care of the most important person: ourselves. 💗
Why Self-Care Matters:
1. Mental Health Boost: Taking time out for overselves reduces stress and anxiety, leading to a clearer, more focused mind.
2. Physical Well-being: Whether a walk, a workout, or a nap, self-care activities improve our physical health.
3. Increased Productivity: When we feel our best, we perform our best. Self-care restores our energy and creativity.
4. Better Relationships: Loving ourselves first enables us to be more present and loving to others.
5. Enhanced Self-Esteem: Prioritizing our needs fosters a positive self-image and boosts our confidence.
Remember, self-care isn't a luxury; it's a necessity. So take that bubble bath, read that book, or simply sit in silence. You deserve it. 🌺

June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness month. This is a time of no other to highlight one of the bigger stigmas in the lives of our African American Men. Many are/were taught to be strong and have endured suffering because of phrases like “man up” and “boys don’t cry”. These phrases taught them that there was something wrong with having emotions let alone expressing them. This stigma has long since kept them from opening up about their struggles leading to a dangerous silence and misplaced anger. The reality is this…acknowledging and addressing their mental/emotional challenges is more of a strength than a weakness.
If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health challenges we want you to know that it is ok to seek help. Therapy can be the difference between a lifetime of joy and a lifetime of distress. Which would you prefer?!
Aight fellas, a virtual men's support group is being help this Thursday, April 4th from 8-9pm EST. Scan the QR code or head over to www.thedopeblacktherapist.com and register under men's group. This is a Zoom meeting, but the only way you'll get the link is by registering.

Wishing you and your family a season of love, peace, and joy!
As we celebrate this holiday season, remember that a time of joy for many is also equally difficult for others. Here are some ways to extend your support:
Although the enemy can use your feelings to keep you in bo***ge, your feelings are not your enemy. It is important to know how you feel and what you are feeling so that you can work through your experiences.
There is nothing you could have done to cause the trauma you are experiencing. Remember that it is never your fault that someone behave inappropriately however it is your responsibility to get the healing that is necessary to move forward. Trauma cause our brain to be restructured in a sense hence the changes we see and experience after we have been traumatized.
Get in front of change and rewire your brain by doing the inside work. Healing the heart matters. You matter, you owe it to yourself to heal. There is strength in healing!!
What are some ways you find peace to promote self care in your daily/weekly routine? Finding peace is essential to improving our overall well-being and there's no better time to start than now. Among the other things that we've dealt with over the course of our lives, the holidays can be really tough for many of us so a little goes a long way. Take a 15min walk during your break or sit in your car and turn on some soft relaxing music, take some deep breaths and just be. Prioritize finding peace.
If you have some favs, please share in the comments.
"And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ." Phillipians 4:7
Can we normalize healing from trauma?! You are not ok, fine, unbothered, etc and that's ok. That is what makes you human. Deal with the issues of your heart. The things that you don't tell anyone about. You don't have to heal alone. Go to therapy and heal! You engage strategies for work, your physical health, spiritual health, etc. Why not engage a strategy for healing your mental health, for healing your heart?!
"...for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." Matthew 12:34
"I've learned that there is nothing perfect in this imperfect world except Your words, for they bring such fantastic freedom into my life" Psalm 119:96
Extend yourself some grace and celebrate the small wins. A little progress is still progress.
Our mental, emotional, and spiritual health are interconnected impacting how we see, hear, and manage relationships. Strongly reconsider your healing journey. Abandon the idea of "not dealing". Not dealing is not a healthy way to heal. Not dealing is another way to say I am avoiding and gives a false perception of protection. Stop packing away your feelings because one day you will have to heal with that heap that we've swept under the rug. Take control of your healing today and don't let it control you.
Start your transformative healing journey today for a life filled with purpose and authentic connections. Your future self deserves it!
