Manna Dream Center – Reaching People With The Love Of Christ 05/08/2024

Our mission at the Manna Dream Center is "Reaching people with the love of Christ by meeting both their physical and spiritual needs". The story below came out of the Manna DC Shelter. This is a good reminder of why we do what we do.

5/1/24 Micah came to the shelter freshly out of detoxing and short term rehabbing from drug addiction. He spent 86 days with us, and during that time he began a part time job at Food Lion. While saving up money we were also able to help him go through the process to get his ID card and a new birth certificate. Micah was always a very respectful man and was driven to move forward in life. He was able to save up enough money to move out into his own apartment and also transitioned into a full time job as well.

This is one of the hundreds of people that we are impacting each and every day.

Vere Ogarro is one of the many success stories that we have at the DC Shelter every month. Upon entry, a 90 day plan was created to help Vere take the necessary steps needed to secure permanent housing. He quickly secured a job and began to save money. Ninety days later, with the help of an outside organization, Vere was able to proudly move out of the shelter and into permanent housing. Vere's story reminds us why we do what we do everyday.

The Manna Men’s Shelter, located at 913 Person Street, offers a sanctuary for men facing homelessness. Our program emphasizes personalized care, mentorship, and guidance for each guest.

Dave is part of Fayetteville’s unhoused community. He had a chance today to get a hot shower thanks to Ken, who leads the Shower Team, and the generosity of multiple businesses who helped to purchase our portable shower unit. Dave said “It was wonderful’ and that he felt like he lost 20 lbs.

Meet Danielle!
Danielle was one of our many guests at the Dream Center this week. During her visit we were able to donate to Danielle and her family several bags of food and fresh chicken. That one act of kindness involves several Serve Team members to pull it off.
Every month we receive 1,900 lbs of fresh chicken from Mountaire Farms. That chicken is pulled from the truck and placed in freezers. Some of that chicken is routed to Dhan’s Kitchen where they prepare hot meals for our guests at the Manna Luncheon. The rest of the chicken is distributed to our community through partners and bagged to give to our guests at the Dream Center Pantry. A big shout out to our Serve Team (volunteers) and Dream Center staff that make this happen daily!

Vanessa with her two children visited the Manna DC Food Pantry yesterday. We were able to bless her family with some meat, and various canned items and fresh bread. All this is possible due to the generosity of those in our community.

In October of last year Jon entered the Manna Dream Center Shelter. He was unhoused, estranged from his children and motivated to get back on his feet. As is the process Jon met with the DC Coordinator. Goals were set that would help him take the necessary steps to a permanent housing situation. We are excited to say that Jon, took advantage of the situation, met his goals and successfully exited the shelter on 1/24/24 having secured a place to live. In the process he completed a skill training course at FTCC, worked two jobs, distinguished himself as an ideal guest by completing his chores, showing respect to others and keeping his bed and living area clean and in order. This is an amazing story that is still being written. Pray that Jon would be reunited with his children and would walk out his God given purpose.

This week Forged Brotherhood MC (FBMC) had the honor to pickup and deliver enough food for 50 families, 1,900 lbs of firewood and gifts for 10 children. One of the Motorcycle Clubs in the Fayetteville area hosts a Christmas party every year for children/families who maybe struggling. They take the list of 200+ names and divide it amongst the areas various MCs. The Friends of Forged Brotherhood MC - Dogwood Crew has taken 10 names to purchase gifts for a number of years and we did so again this year. Three years ago we were asked if there was any way of obtaining grocery items so families could take with them as well. Last year we partnered with Manna Church In Fayetteville, NC. The Manna Dream Center provided all shown in the picture and has become a great support organization and partner of ours. The coolers alone were stocked with 50 whole frozen chickens. The partnerships don’t stop there. A local Food Lion is kind enough to provide grocery bags for the families to load the items in. Seeing how the God brings together the various groups to bless families is awesome to watch. FBMC Mission Statement is “To Glorify God by building spiritually mature brothers to send into the motorcycle club world.” This time of year it surpasses the motorcycle club world and goes into the community.

Great job men and thank you for all you put in to making Forged Brotherhood MC all that it is today!!!
