Gold Star Teen Adventures provides adventure opportunities for the children of fallen military.

Kent Solheim, a special operations service member was very seriously wounded in combat in Iraq in 2007, ultimately resulting in the loss of his right leg. Kent’s experiences on his road to recovery inspired the creation of Gold Star Teen Adventures. 2023 GSTA Freedom Swim 08/16/2023

On October 7, 2023 Kent Solheim (GSTA Founder), Katie McCloskey and Lauren Fenty (daughters of fallen service members) will each be swimming the 2023 Gold Star Teen Adventures 2023 10KM Freedom Swim. The purpose of this swim is to remember our fallen. Each 100 meters the swimmers swim will be in honor of one of our nation's fallen. The team also has a goal of raising $50K to support Gold Star Teen Adventures. This non-profit provides year-round programing for the children of fallen service members, law enforcement, and our nation's intelligence agencies. Please give to this worthy cause. Thank you!

Day 3 of the Outdoor 101 adventure took teens through parts of the famous “Nasty Nick”. Teens learned how to work as a team to maneuver heavy obstacles in their way.

On day 2 of Outdoor 101 our GSTA teens had an opportunity to learn from some of the most elite military survival instructors. They learned important skills like knot tying, fire starting, water purification, plant identification and wilderness first aid. These are skills they will be using throughout the rest of the adventure.
