Waverly park parents and community, it seems like Texas weather just can't make up its mind! Due to the rain this afternoon, the wet concrete, and the possibility of more tomorrow, we have to reschedule our Paint a Playground event for Saturday, September 6th. Please don't get disheartened, because there's a silver lining to every cloud. And in this case, it's the fact that the paint needs dry conditions to last a long time, so we can make sure our playground looks vibrant and colorful for a long time to come!

We want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to all those who signed up to help. Your enthusiasm and dedication to making a positive impact in our community is truly inspiring. And although we may have to wait a little longer to work alongside each other, let's not forget the bigger picture. This event is not just about painting a playground, it's about coming together, making a difference in our community and for our students.

Today, we want to take a moment to appreciate the power of kindness. It's not always the grand gestures or extravagant gifts that leave a lasting impact, but rather the simple acts of kindness that come from the heart. And let me tell you, the Escamilla family has truly shown us the beauty of kindness. Whether it's offering a helping hand to a neighbor, donating clothes and organizing them, this family goes above and beyond kindness in everything they do. We are truly grateful to have them at Waverly Park and we are grateful for their selfless. So let's all give an applause to the Escamilla family and spread kindness wherever we go. It may seem small, but it can make a big difference in someone's day. Let's make kindness go viral!

Congratulations, we made it through the first week of school! πŸŽ‰ As we gear up for another week of learning and growth, there are a few important updates to keep in mind.

Starting this Monday, August 19th, our amazing staff will be standing by to assist students as they walk into the building on their own. This is a big step towards independence and we are so proud of our students for taking it! Parents, we kindly ask that you drop your child off at the door and let them take it from there. πŸ™Œ

Also, let's make sure we are all on time for school! Tardiness will begin this week, so please have your child at school by 7:40am. This gives them enough time to get to their classroom and prepare for the day ahead. Remember, any student not in their classroom by 7:50am will be marked as tardy. Let's start off the school year with great habits! πŸ’ͺ

But wait, there's more good news! We are happy to announce that breakfast and lunch are both FREE for all students! πŸ³πŸ” So let's make sure our students take advantage of this opportunity. Breakfast is served starting at 7:20am. We can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow!

Happy Friday everyone! πŸŽ‰ Who else is excited for the weekend? πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ But wait, there's more to be excited about... Guess what? πŸ€” Every Friday is now officially college shirt Friday at Waverly Park Elementary! πŸŽ“πŸ‘•

That's right, dust off those old college tees and show your school pride! 🏫 Whether it's your alma mater or your dream school, wear it loud and proud. Let's see who can rock the most unique and creative college shirt! 🀩

Not only will you be looking stylish and representing your favorite school, but you'll also be supporting higher education. πŸ“š Who knows, maybe some of our students will be wearing your college colors in the future! πŸ˜‰

So let's kick off this weekend and show some school spirit. See you all in your college gear tomorrow! πŸŽ“πŸ‘•

Good morning everyone! As we start another beautiful day here at Waverly Park, we wanted to take a moment to remind all the parents and guardians about our school's policy regarding nut allergies. We are a nut-free school due to students having severe nut allergies.

We want to thank you all for your cooperation and understanding in this matter. Our students' health and safety is our top priority, and we are confident that we can all work together to make sure that every child in our school can enjoy their lunch without any worries.

Thank you for your continued support and let's make it a great day!
