The City of Fort Worth Keep Fort Worth Beautiful annual "Neighborhood 'Litter Stomp'" is Saturday, October 5, 8 AM - 11 AM! We are reaching out to Polytechnic Heights South residents, businesses, stakeholders, and friends to come together to clear our community of litter on this date as a neighborhood association collaborative effort.

The Boys & Girls Club at 3123 Avenue G is our project hub; the place to meet up to start, bathrooms, cleanup, cool-off spot, additional supplies, and return to when you've finished your shift. Keep Fort Worth Beautiful will provide clean-up supplies. Additionally, volunteers with pickup trucks or trailers are needed to take the collected litter to the Southeast Drop-off Center (DOC) at 5150 MLK Fwy.

On the Litter Stomp page, please read these documents:

Litter Cleanup Event Liability Agreement(PDF, 107KB)
Frequently Asked Questions Sheet(PDF, 887KB)
Supply Pickup Map of Hazel Harvey Peace(PDF, 1MB)
Post Event Wrap-Up Form
Then register your group and send us a copy of your registration to PHSNA at [email protected] so that we can keep up with how many registered as the NA. (Attached is a copy of the registration form to show you how to register so you, your organization, and PHSNA get credit for the clean-up). Business owners and Community stakeholders are asked to clean up around their business site, as well as the street, gutter, and sidewalk in front. If there is a vacant lot near you that needs cleaning, ask your neighbor to work with you, or let us know if you need help.

We will identify areas needing clean-up before the event day so the process runs smoothly. If you are aware of areas that need cleanup, let us know via [email protected].

How many crews can we put to work? Let's work together to clean up our community from Hwy 287 to Miller Ave, E. Rosedale to E. Berry St.

More information will be provided as we get closer to the event day. We look forward to working with you in this effort."

Our Story

The City of Fort Worth was one of 14 U.S. cities selected to receive a grant from The Wallace Foundation, an organization seeking to improve education and enrichment for disadvantaged children across the nation.

The grant was to be used over a four-year period from 2012 through 2016 to improve the quality and accessibility of out-of-school-time programs.

Thanks to this funding and the strong support of Mayor Betsy Price, The City of Fort Worth Park and Recreation Department and The Fort Worth Sparc Board, we created SPARC, with a mission to Strengthen after-school Programs through Advocacy, Resources and Collaboration.

Fort Worth S P A R C is a collaboration between the City of Fort Worth, all 19 local independent school districts in Tarrant County, after-school providers and community leaders. Each of these groups work with SPARC, to advocate for exceptional after-school programs across the Greater Fort Worth area, and to serve as a resource for parents and providers. In January 2018, S P A R C will extend our scope to Tarrant County and be housed in the Tarrant County United Way.
