We extend our heartfelt thanks to the ACLU of Northern California for sponsoring Trans-E-Motion’s Transgender Day of Visibility!
Your sponsorship is instrumental in supporting this significant event, which serves as a platform for raising awareness and advocating for the rights of the transgender community, as well as our resource grants.
The ACLU is the first line of defense against threats to civil liberties, working to ensure these freedoms are guaranteed to every person in this country. We are grateful for their work in the valley to advocate for free speech, due process, and freedom from discrimination. The ACLU of Northern California has worked hard, especially against the recent attempts to censor LGBTQ+ content from our public schools. This is not only a violation of our constitutional right to freedom of speech but violates several Californian educational laws.
Thank you for your support of Trans-E-Motion’s Transgender Day of Visibility.

A heartfelt thank you and shout out to LGBTQ Fresno for sponsoring Trans-E-Motion’s Transgender Day of Visibility! Your sponsorship goes directly to supporting this event and our resource grants.
We are very grateful for the continued advocacy and vigilance LGBTQ Fresno has for everything happening to our LGBTQ+ community in the Central Valley. LGBTQ Fresno aims to provide the latest news and information impacting our LGBTQ community. LGBTQ Fresno has worked closely with local LGBTQ+ organizations to protest and resist the recent LGBTQ+ censorship at Fresno County’s libraries, with the Board of Supervisors installing a “Community Parent and Guardian Review Committee.” This review committee is a blatant attempt to censor LGBTQ+ literature geared toward youth and young adults at our public Libraries.
This battle against LGBTQ+ censorship for our LGBTQ+ youth will continue. But we are grateful for LGBTQ Fresno and their hard work advocating for our community.
If you want to learn more about LGBTQ Fresno, please check out their website and sign up for their listserve for the latest news: https://www.lgbtqfresno.com/

A special thank you to Fresno State’s Department of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies for sponsoring Trans-E-Motion’s Transgender Day of Visibility! Your sponsorship supports this event and our resource grants.
The Department of Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) has steadfastly supported the TGI community on and off the Fresno State campus. We are incredibly grateful for their continued effort to teach and mobilize around inclusive and intersectional gender justice issues, especially the right for gender-affirming healthcare and reproductive justice as a feminist issue and a necessity for economic and racial justice. Special shout out to the Chair of WGSS, Dr. Larissa Mercado-López, for her steadfast work on Latina/o/x/é health, especially for student parents.
Check out the new fall classes from the WGSS’s LGBTQ2+ Studies Minor! For the first time at Fresno State, there will be a Trans Studies course! There is also the Q***r History of America, Gender and Sexuality Issues in Education, and LGBTQ+ Representation in Film and Television!
