Bank of America's Community Volunteer program allowed for twelve BoA Employees to serve at Poverello House's Papa Mike's Café! The team spent their morning taking orders, serving breakfast, bussing tables, and engaging with our guests.
Poverello House also received a $20,000 grant from Bank of America! These funds will go toward the rapid re-housing program, which provides rental assistance and case management for one year. We are proud and blessed to partner with Bank of America!

Excursions to new destinations, no matter the distance, have a meaningful impact on everyone, especially our guests. For some, it was their first time seeing the beach, while others had not visited in decades.
We are blessed to offer our guests the chance to embark on new adventures as they rediscover the best version of themselves on their journey of hope.

We are so proud to be a small part of Freddy and Katrina's journey!
Congratulations, Freddy and Katrina! ❤️
In 2021, Freddy and Katrina's apartment burned down, causing them to experience homelessness. After losing their home, they fell on hard times and started staying on G Street when Poverello House Village of Hope outreach successfully sheltered them at the Village.
Katrina says her stay at the Village of Hope gave her a new outlook and taught her to be part of a community - and says she feels they'll be successful and supported in their next chapter knowing they'll have housing stability case managers checking in on them.
Congratulations to Katrina and Freddy on their move to permanent housing! 🥳
In June 2023, Poverello House partnered with the City of Fresno to provide an emergency shelter on Blackstone Avenue. Today, June 12, 2024, Poverello House celebrates one full year of services at Hope Pointe Shelter!

We hope to see you at our 2025 event!
In 2006, the Poverello House Chef created the first version of Papa Mike’s Café. To honor Mike, the traditional three-course meal was created to serve our guests in a restaurant-style setting. This once-a-month event was always so special to staff, volunteers, and guests.
In January 2024, we opened our doors to Papa Mike’s Café!
At Papa Mike’s Café, we're on a mission to provide more than just meals; we're offering a no-cost, full-service restaurant experience with a warm ambiance, attentive service, and delectable menu options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for all.
“Papa Mike’s Café is an evolution of what our founder started with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches more than 50 years ago. Anyone in need can have a restaurant experience with us daily. This venture is transformational for our entire community, and we are thrilled to open our doors today.” Zack Darrah, Chief Executive Officer, at the grand opening of Papa Mike’s Café.
