Dr. Rolston St. Hilaire officially started his new role as the Fresno State Jordan College Dean last week, yet his vision for its future started taking shape much earlier as he researched its programs & interviewed for the position last spring.

Lets all send warm wishes to Dean Nef. Thank you Dean Nef for all your contibutions and support to Fresno State!
The Jordan College is pleased to announce that Dr. Rolston St. Hilaire has been named as its new Dean starting in September.
In his 24-year career at New Mexico State University, he has won numerous awards as a faculty member, researcher & leader for the plant science department, research centers across the state & extension service (as well as a host of campus, community, professional & industry support efforts).
His diversified & hands-on experience in agriculture matches our area's reputation as a national leader & hails back to his youth. Growing up on a small, family farm on the Caribbean island of Dominica, he helped raised fruits, vegetables & other tree crops (as well as chickens & cattle). Just as important, he saw the impact his father made as an extension advisor on the productivity & lives of area growers.
This multi-faceted approach to agriculture continued as a college student at the University of Trinidad & Tobago where he participated in classes & hands-on training in livestock & farm management, crop production & other areas.
He followed with undergraduate & master's degrees from the University of Puerto Rico, MayagΓΌez & a doctoral degree from Iowa State University (& all related to horticulture).
Throughout his career, he has also integrated innovative methods that have engaged & mentored others at NMSU, which like Fresno State is a Hispanic Service Institution (HSI) & committed to student recruitment, retention & engagement.
Learn more about his impressive background (& additional expertise tied to water management, environmental sustainability & smart farm technology) at: https://bit.ly/FS22-JC-new-dean
