Tonight, the Board of Trustees was able to honor our Friendswood Weightlifting team with the . This team competed at Nationals last month and came back with some hardware! Proud of these incredible athletes and their many accomplishments. 💙

Due to electrical outages at the majority of Friendswood ISD facilities, the district will remain closed on Wednesday, July 10. Thank you for understanding.

Due to damage and road obstructions caused by Hurricane Beryl, Friendswood ISD will be closed on Tuesday, July 9 to allow time for assessments of facilities, power to be restored and roads to be cleared. This closure includes all professional learning, summer school and extracurricular activities.

Due to the forecast of inclement weather, all Friendswood ISD facilities and operations will be closed on Monday, July 8.

We are thrilled to welcome Sarah Russell as the new assistant principal at Cline Elementary for the 2024-2025 school year. Sarah brings nearly two decades of experience and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership to this role. Her extensive background includes serving as a 4th-grade teacher at Cline, making her an excellent addition to our team. Sarah will be a fantastic partner to our new principal, Julianne McCarty.

The Board of Education proudly announces Molly Crow as the Golden Horseshoe Award recipient for her outstanding dedication to FISD. As president of the Education Foundation, Molly’s leadership in fundraising and community support has greatly benefited students and staff. Her volunteerism and innovative programs, like the Legacy Grant Program, showcase her commitment to education. We deeply appreciate Molly’s transformative impact on FISD.

Choking is the 5th leading cause of accidental death in the US. This year, Friendswood ISD was lucky to have two heroic substitutes who saved lives using the Heimlich Maneuver.
Tammy Jo Williams acted swiftly to save a choking student, while Amber Jordan helped a fellow teacher in distress. Their quick actions highlight the crucial role of substitute teachers in our schools.
