Our heart goes out to all those struggling to find tylenol/motrin for their little ones. Despite the shortages, please DO NOT give aspirin to children unless prescribed by a doctor. Doing so carries a rare but dangerous risk of swelling in the brain and liver damage.

Dr. Karin Hager joins BestNest Pediatrics at NEW Prosper Office

Dr. Karin Hager has joined BestNest Pediatrics. Dr. Hager trained with BestNest physicians for 3 years as part of her residency. She then became Chief Resident at Children’s Hospital Dallas.

Reminder, all parents and children over the age of 2 need to wear a mask for their appointments. Please bring your own mask and wear your mask prior to entering our office for your appointment. This is per Gov. Abbott's Executive Order GA 19 and the related Texas Medical Board emergency rule.

We wanted to post a quick update on our office procedures for the current coronavirus pandemic. Our major goals are to limit potential exposures to our patients and staff members and to do our part to stop the spread of COVID-19.

First, we want to reassure everyone that if children have symptoms with coronavirus, they tend to be mild (congestion, cough, low grade fever). If your child has these symptoms, they should stay home and avoid contact with high risk groups (elderly, those with underlying medical conditions). Anyone who develops labored breathing or shortness of breath should seek urgent medication attention.

- We will continue to see well visit for children who require vaccines (2 months – 18 months and 4 year olds). These visits will be conducted in the mornings. Well visits that do not require vaccines will be canceled and rescheduled at a later date.
- Sick visits will be triaged by our phone nurses. Our goal is to keep patients who have mild symptoms at home. If we determine your child needs to be seen these appointments will be conducted in the afternoons.
- We will be using a telemedicine platform for all ADHD/mental health visits. If your child has an upcoming ADHD/depression/anxiety visit in the next 1-2 months please contact our office to see if we can convert it to a telemedicine visit in the next 1-2 weeks.
