Dr Babber got to visit with some cool Kindergarteners today!

We know that everybody has been struggling to find needed medications month after month amid ongoing shortages. Dr Kaplan spoke with AAP News about this recently.

Our staff will continue to work with you to streamline this process as much as possible even while much of it is beyond our control.

Amid frustrations, pediatricians say work is needed to address drug shortages As shortages for many necessary prescription drugs continue, some AAP members say work is needed to prevent disruptions and help payers eliminate access issues for patients.

Due to worsening weather, our office is closing early today at 3:30pm. As usual our triage service is available for any non-urgent needs, whenever we are closed. For medical emergencies, dial 911.

Due to the rapidly deteriorating weather conditions, we will be closing early today (no later than 3pm).

If you have a sick child that needs to be seen today, please call as soon as possible.

We will make further decisions on Tuesday based on morning conditions, but we generally follow the lead of Frisco ISD.

TLC Family - It’s been so great to see so many of you in the office. Your support has given me so much strength in my continued recovery from cancer.

As many of you know, I’ve been a distance runner for quite some time. As part of my recovery, I am currently working my way back up to the half marathon distance (most recent long run was 7 miles this weekend!) to help rebuild my strength and stamina.

I am working toward the goal of running the United Airlines New York City Half Marathon in March, while also fundraising to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation so that others can benefit from the same amazing care that I received and to research new and less invasive treatments.

I’d welcome your support if you are able!

It was so nice, I forgot to snap a picture of him!!!!
It was definitely a tough couple of months missing him at the office and a tough couple of months for him fighting cancer, we’re thankful to have him back and healthy!!!

Dear TLC patients and families -

Here's a quick update from Dr Kaplan. Today is my first day back in the office! I will be working part-time for now and ask for your patience as I am still moving a bit slower than I am used to. In addition, I will have physical therapy and other appointments over the next few months that I may have to miss office time for, but I will do my best to minimize the disruptions.

Furthermore, my last set of scans showed that 95+% of my cancer is gone, but there is one small persnickety spot that has not yet resolved. I'll be having a second opinion consult next week to decide what, if any, treatment needs to come next.

As I remain immunocompromised for at least the next 6 months, I ask everyone to please remember to wear a mask to all appointments in the office and keep the mask on at all times.

For now, I will be seeing patients in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Dr. Babber will be seeing patients on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and Dr Oquendo will continue to be here on a limited basis. We will adjust the schedule accordingly if it is determined that I do or do not need an additional course of treatment and as I regain my strength and stamina.

I appreciate everyone's support and prayers during this challenging journey and I look forward to seeing many of you in the office over the next few months. Wishing everyone a great start to the new school year.

To my amazing TLC patients and families-

Today marks my final chemo infusion! I’ve still got several treatments over the next few weeks, repeat scans in a few weeks and it’s going to take me some time to fully recover and regain my strength and stamina, but I currently plan on returning to the office in early August.

Thanks for all the prayers, kind notes, pictures and cards. They’ve been an incredible source of support over these challenging months.

A special 4th of July celebration of freedom it will be - please stay safe whether you are celebrating on water or with fireworks. I look forward to seeing you all soon!!

Some exciting things happening at TLC.... We got to welcome Esmeralda back today from maternity leave (that was a Quick 3 months!!). Also Dr Babber (Bhavana Sharma Babber) is settling in and officially on the schedule. Our hope is Dr Kaplan will return in the beginning of August and our TLC family will be back together again!!!!
