Christians Concerned for the Community

CCC focuses on serving, assisting, and empowering the poor, elderly, and disabled in crisis. PLEASE do not randomly leave items on the porch or in the yard.

Household Donations
Please note that CCC office has limited storage space and a small staff to sort through donated items and then donate items somewhere else that our neighbors are unable to use. So that we can best use staffing hours most efficiently, we request that potential donors first contact the office at 352-358-1768. Needs:
- silverware
- dinner plates, and especially bowls

Some photos from Home Delivery the last few weeks!
We have been delivering lots of the UF donations, and our neighbors are very thankful for that and more that we are able to give to them as an expression of God's love.

Please continue to prayer that:
-We can receive more church and individual partners
-We would be able to find more people to serve
-God would be glorified by the work we do in his Name.

Thank you to City Church, UF Surplus, and the volunteers who helped move 20 Dining Room tables and lots of chairs from UF to empty storage space in City Church to store for CCC!

Thanks to the donations from UF, and the space provided by City Church, we will be able to help many more families in the coming months to fully furnish their homes. And not just these tables, but also with end tables, Living Room chairs, and dressers that we will get from UF Surplus soon!

Praise be to God for this important donation of furniture and extra space that we can use to alleviate the hurting of our neighbors in crisis, especially those who are elderly, disabled, and impoverished.

Pray that we would find homes for all these items quickly, that we could show the love of God to every neighbor we serve, and that we would continue to be supported by the great community in Alachua County.

Last month, CCC built another urgent ramp for a neighbor out near Hawthorne.
This neighbor was a young man who had just been hit by a car while biking and lost most of one leg, and their family did not have the resources to build themselves a good ramp when he got sent home from the hospital.

Thanks to the volunteers who served and the donors who support this work, we were able to build him a great ramp not long after he got sent home from the hospital!

And I was able to sit down with him and say that even though his life had changed so suddenly and tragically, we wanted this gift to be an image of the Love of God for him. It is a privilege to be able to express the love of God to those who are in such hurt, and to work alongside people from multiple churches to care for our neighbor together.

Pray for healing for this man, that he might be able to walk again one day, that we would be able to continue to build more ramps, do more projects, and have the resources to do that!

A bed recently delivered to a single woman who had to relocate to Gainesville to escape a bad situation. Every week we do these furniture routes to help those in need!

We thank God for the continued support of the community, and we thank the donors who give, so that we can continue to serve and show love to our neighbors in crisis who are all around us.

Please pray with us that a ramp project will go smoothly this weekend, and that we can continue to come alongside those who are struggling to establish a good home and life in our community.

And please consider giving your time as a volunteer, your goods as donations to those without, and your resources as funds for us to continue doing this missional and community supporting work.

Thanks to our volunteers, CCC getting into doing other accessibility upgrades besides ramps! Here a friend of CCC helps us install grab bars for an elderly and disabled woman in South-East Gainesville.
With more skilled workers and funds, CCC would be able to do more of this work in our community!

Please consider getting involved if you want to build ramps, move furniture, or things like this. We want to connect the local church to needs of our neighbors to show them the love of Christ.

Two beds and some Living Room furniture delivered to a family displaced to Gainesville from a bad situation!

Please keep us in mind for donating beds (especially right now) and other home items so we can help furnish the homes of our neighbors in need of help. We love to witness to the goodness of God, that he provides local individuals and churches that fund the good work that we do in the community.

Thank you to Richard, Roy, and the UF ROTC guys who showed up to serve a neighbor in need with raking, mowing, and some other yard cleanup for a disabled neighbor!

Projects like this are great for groups to volunteer for because you don't need special skills for the work, and its a good way to show love to our neighbors in need, especially as a way to live out sacrificial service to our community in the name of the Lord.

The neighbor, Ms. E, wanted to pass along her thanks and blessing to the men who helped clean her yard.

If you are part of a Bible study, Community Group, or something similar, please consider contacting our office and trying to schedule your group to serve in ways similar to this.
And as always, if there are people who would be willing to assist in wheelchair ramp builds, please let us know!

Furniture Update: We need more beds!

Good morning everyone,
Please keep us in mind and share with your friends and churches that CCC is currently low on beds. Mattresses especially are the most useful for our neighbors, those in good condition.
Please contact our office to arrange a Pick-up (we ask for two weeks notice) or to arrange a Bed drop-off at your leisure if you can move the mattress yourself.

See here another LR furnished with the generous donation of a CCC partner who gave us most of their household furniture! The family is very grateful for these items, and we have helped many other homes in the last few weeks.

And thank you so much to everyone who is supporting our organization as a regular donor, and to those that have contributed to Adopt-a-Ramp! See our latest newsletter to learn more about the different ways to fund our mission to express the love of God by connecting the Church to our neighbors in need.

Here are some of the thank you messages we received from the neighbors that have been helped by each of you who help our work
"Okay thank you so much I really appreciate it so much me and my family 💕"
"I just arrived home, and these pieces are amazing. I want to thank you again. I pray that God bless you all individually and the ministry. May God continue to increase you all that you all may bless others. And for all the volunteers, I pray that God will continue to keep them safe and give them strength and endurance to press through each and every day, in Jesus name AMEN!!! Blessings "

What a joy it is to witness the goodness of God made manifest through good works. May you all be encouraged by what the Lord is doing!

Adopt-a-Ramp!
This is a new program is for individual donors or churches/organizations to contribute additional funds for ramp projects so that you can be directly responsible for the materials needed to change a neighbor's life who is in need.
We want to raise additional funds beyond what we budget in order to continue building more ramps, and would love anyone who is or isn't a current donor to consider this direct funding opportunity.

We currently are building a large ramp this Saturday, and the cost is around $1,500 dollars of materials cost for the whole project.
I will be sending this out in our newsletter next week as well!

Thank you!

Last week CCC delivered multiple beds and other items, as well as this DR table to a family and their two kids!
Thank you so much to everyone who supports the work we do and those who volunteer to help out.

CCC will be building another large ramp in a couple weeks on March 16th, so please let me know if you are a (semi-)
skilled worker and want to help out, or if you want to "Adopt-a-Ramp" and help fund this project.
A ramp this size takes close to $1,500 to fully fund.

The last couple weeks, we surveyed a group project while removing some old tree debris thanks to volunteer help, and we fully furnished the bedroom (and part of the living room) of an older couple who just found stable housing after being homeless for many years!

The couple wanted to pass on their thanks to everyone who helped make this work possible, and their thanks to God for his goodness through the generosity of donors and the community

I also want to share the need of CCC to continue raising funds to support the work of our mission. If you have any questions about it, please let me know, I would love to discuss the financial needs of our ministry with anyone who is interested in joining as a financial partner of this crucial work!

Last week we delivered to a neighbor with serious health problems who had to relocate closer UF Health for continual treatment. On this visit, we were able to bring 2 beds for him and his mother, as well as a good washer. Now this neighbor doesn't have to sleep on a leaky air mattress!

God is good that we are able to receive and distribute donations like this to those who are in crisis situations. Thank you to everyone who partners in this ministry and helps make this kind of wonderful change happen in lives our neighbors.

A week ago, a local Church Elder got some guys from UF ROTC and a local christian landscaper who formed up for a service project for a local man who has disabilities. He needed what was valued at well over 500$ of landscaping done and could not do it or pay for it to get done himself.

Thank you so much to Roy who organized the ROTC guys, and to Stuart who helped provide many tools and experience so that we could serve our neighbor.

Please let us know if you are interested in doing yard makeovers as part of our Home Project Program! We have 1 waiting yard project, and one painting project.

As always, thank you to our donors, and please sign up for our Newsletter from our website to know and hear more about the ministry work we do and our needs.

New Ramp Project:
On last Saturday, CCC built a ramp with the help of the neighbors two sons, and with many local believers, mainly from Grace at Fort Clarke Church and St. Andrew's Church - Gainesville, Florida, but also some other congregations!
These volunteers came together to build a wonderful ramp for this woman who needed the safety of ramp after she lost a lot of mobility (and her grandkids, to a lesser extent) from a bad car accident. Building the ramp together with her family was a great time of both community and service.

Thank you so much to our donors for providing the funding to make this project happen, to the volunteers for their hours worked, and the skilled carpenters who led the project.

Projects like this are a core part of our fulfilling our mission. We can provide for those who cannot get help elsewhere, from other people or organizations. The Church can embody the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ by humbly serving those in need, and share the light of the Gospel by that example.

Here are some pictures that document in more detail the work done this last weekend, with a beforehand shot as well.
