Alyssa (UF sustainability intern and awesome human) and I started on the main garden pathways made with recycled concrete fines from a local concrete recycling facility. It is a hard surface strollers, wheelbarrows, wheelchairs can get across (hardens especially when damp), while also maintaining flexibility and drainage. Overall a solid path solution.

Did you know that all National Park Service sites have an accessibility section on their website?
To find it, search for the park's nps.gov website. Under the menu at the top, go to PLAN YOUR VISIT and ACCESSIBILITY.
Unfortunately the format and accuracy of the information is not consistent across parks. Some have great information about accessibility for mobility, vision, hearing, and sensory disabilities. Others only include mention of "accessible features." You may need to call the park for more info, or research blogs and guidebooks.
One of the parks working to improve access to information is We're proud to say that Syren worked with staff at Olympic in 2020 to review detailed guides for 25 of the most popular trails. These trail descriptions are available on the Accessibility page. We'd love to see more parks provide this information!
Image descriptions: 1) four photos of nature with text in the center reads Accessibility in National Parks. How to find information and plan your visit.
