It's the first day of school!!!! Where did the summer go? If only it would take the heat with it, but we won't be holding our breath. Here's to a great day!

Happy first day of summer! And in typical AZ fashion, we entered with a bang!!!! A scorching 117° recorded at Sky Harbor. Stay safe out there everyone!

Looking for ways to keep the kids entertained this summer? We'll be on the look out for things happening in our community & share with you all!
First up is summer reading programs! I'm sure you know about the one through the Glendale Public Library, but did you know that Barnes & Noble has a summer reading program for 1st-6th grade? And it's easy! Head to your favorite Barnes & Noble to pick up a summer reading form, there's a space on the back for your kid(s) to put 8 books that they have read along with their favorite part. Once that's filled in, you take the sheet back to Barnes & Noble to collect one of the books in your child's she category!

Camp O'Connor Camp O'Connor is a Civics Camp created by The O'Connor Institute. The program provides young leaders with an interactive and educational civics experience.

We could never! In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, PTSA is showing our appreciation to our staff with something everyday. Today, they got kettle corn & other flavors popcorn with a note that said:

Good Morning Parents! Dr. Somers is hosting Listen, Learn, and Lead events to learn more about the PUSD community. Please see details below.

To ensure a strong foundation and to foster open dialogue with students, staff, parents and the community, Dr. Somers will host a series of engaging meetings across Peoria Unified, called Listen, Learn & Lead.



Dr. Somers is hosting three identical events as opportunities to get to know our community and garner feedback to be used in a summary report to the Governing Board and community. These conversations serve as a platform for all key stakeholders – staff, parents, students, and community members alike – to share their thoughts, ideas, and aspirations for our schools. All events are identical and will last one hour.
