We serve the Greater Phoenix area and are staffed by client advocates and medical professionals who are here to listen and provide the facts and information to help individuals make informed decisions about their body, sexuality, and unplanned pregnancy. All consultations are confidential and the majority of our services are free or at a very low cost. Choices operates centers in Glendale, Mesa and Phoenix.
What is informed consent? 🤔
Informed consent is when a healthcare provider educates a patient about the risks, benefits, and alternatives of a given procedure or intervention.
Unfortunately, many women who undergo an abortion procedure are NOT given full informed consent. For example, there are countless stories of women who have reported seeing their fully formed baby after taking the abortion pill, something that they were not warned might happen ahead of time, leaving them traumatized.
At Choices, we believe that true informed consent means knowing ALL the risks of both medical and surgical abortion procedures, as well as knowing what your other options are: parenting or placing for adoption.

Is the morning after pill the same thing as the abortion pill? 👇
The short answer is no, the morning after pill is not the same as the abortion pill.
The abortion pill is designed to intentionally end the life of a baby before 10 weeks gestation. The morning after pill is intended to prevent fertilization after unprotected s*x.
However, the morning after pill can occasionally act as an abortifacient by preventing the implantation of a fertilized embryo.
It is also important to note that the morning after pill is not 100% effective and should NOT be used as birth control.

What can I expect at my ultrasound appointment at Choices?
At your appointment, a registered nurse will perform your ultrasound to gather the following information:
💕 Confirm an intrauterine pregnancy (not ectopic)
💕 Measure your baby's heartbeat
💕 Your gestational age (how far along you are in your pregnancy)

There are many misconceptions about foster care and adoption. Did you know that they are two different things?
The foster care system is designed to be a temporary placement with the goal of reuniting the child with their biological parent(s).
However, when an expectant mother chooses to place her child for adoption, she is in full control until she signs over her parental right - after the baby is born.
She can choose the family her child is placed with, and how often she wants to see her child.

Sometimes referred to as "crisis pregnancy centers," PRCs provide essential pregnancy services such as pregnancy tests and ultrasounds - usually cost-free.
While PRCs do not offer or refer for abortion services, trained staff and medical personnel can answer any questions you may have about abortion (or any pregnancy option).

Is miscarriage treatment the same as an abortion?
The answer is no, though pro-abortion activists often claim that it is.
While the procedures involved are similar, there is a vital difference. In miscarriage treatment, the baby is already, tragically, deceased. Abortion, on the other hand, intentionally takes the life of a child who may have otherwise lived.
Even states with the strictest abortion regulations DO NOT prevent or prosecute women for miscarriage, stillbirth, or ectopic pregnancy.

By 6 weeks gestation (4 weeks after conception), you may be able to see that little heart beating on an ultrasound!

It's important to take care of yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally during pregnancy - that includes in the workplace!
Here are some tips 👇
💕It's okay to slow down, especially if your job is strenuous. Your employer (in most cases) is legally required to accommodate your load to keep you and your baby safe
💕If you feel comfortable, let your boss or supervisor know that you are expecting, they may be able to offer additional support
💕Try not to bring your work home. If you can, focus on relaxing and resting when you are off the clock
💕Ask for help, you don't have to do it all alone
