This is also the time when service members can use a reminder of home more than ever. Many of these men and women are away from home for the first time and may feel lonely during the holidays without the privilege of spending time with their family and friends.

We recently had the opportunity to meet the team at Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona and tour their Veteran and Military Family Career Center. Their team’s dedication to supporting veterans and military families is truly inspiring. Through our Packages For Hope program, we provided food and hygiene kits to support veterans in need. It was a full circle moment when a Goodwill team member shared that she had received care packages from us during her deployment!

Goodwill’s Career Center offers a wide range of services, including resume building, computer skills, NorthStar certification, financial and digital literacy, and access to MyCareerAdvisor.com. They also provide meeting and training spaces, and a Chapter Service Officer from Disabled American Veterans is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Essential skills courses are also offered to help veterans further their development.

These partnerships are invaluable in helping veterans access the resources they need. Together, we can make a real difference.
