Job Posting: Director of Worship Arts

Eastern Avenue Christian Reformed Church seeks a knowledgeable, musically gifted, creative Director of Worship Arts. In this full-time, salaried position, you will plan and lead the worship ministry of the church, with particular emphasis on music, liturgy, and visual and performing arts. Your experience in using a variety of arts in worship ministry, as well as your ability to cross cultural boundaries will be key to your role. As our Director of Worship Arts, you plan God-glorifying worship services. You will collaborate on selecting music, writing liturgies, and developing the skills of musicians, singers, and artists of all ages and talents. You embody a transformational love of Jesus Christ and share a passion for urban ministry through arts in worship. Your leadership builds and nurtures a Christ-like community among our diverse worshippers. Your ability to speak both Spanish and English is a plus.

Due to the deteriorating weather conditions, the 7:30pm Ash Wednesday Service at Eastern Avenue CRC has been cancelled. In addition, all other planned events for today including the bilingual prayer service, DQs, and choir rehearsal are also cancelled.

Eastern's Food Program starts at 11am this morning - lots of wonderful fresh food, all for free! Spread the word!

After assessing the continued forecast, road conditions, and parking lot conditions, we have decided to cancel both the 9:30 and 11:00 Christmas Day services. We wish everyone a blessed Christmas!

Due to the weather and unsafe road conditions, the Food Program has been cancelled for Saturday, December 24 and rescheduled for Tuesday, December 27 at 11am. The next food distribution will take place on Saturday, December 31 at 9:30am as usual. Thank you for your understanding, and Merry Christmas.

We're sharing so many stories of Clarence Hogeterp that make us laugh and help us cry. You can join his family in celebrating Clarence's life and legacy during his memorial service this Saturday, June 11 at 2:00pm here at Eastern Avenue CRC. Visitation, also here at Eastern, will be on Friday, June 10 from 5-7pm and on Saturday before the service, 1:00-1:45pm.
We are expecting many guests at Clarence's service on Saturday. Please consider carpooling. We have also contacted churches and agencies in our neighborhood, and we have permission to use their parking lots Saturday afternoon. For those that are able, we encourage you to park at one of these alternate lots so that we can leave the church's lots available to guests. The office will be closed for the holidays starting Thursday, December 23, and will reopen on Monday, January 3.

The Food Program will run Thursday, December 23, 12-2pm, and then will not run on Christmas Day and New Years Day. The regular schedule for the Food Program will resume Saturday, January 8 (10am-12pm).

This Giving Tuesday, please give to the Food Program at Eastern Ave Christian Reformed Church, a service to the community for 40 years. With the help of a great team of volunteers, and with the support of donations from several organizations, we are able to provide fruits, vegetables, bread and canned food to all who come.
