We are wrapping up on sermon series on Acts this morning. This week Pastor Emily is preaching from Acts 18:1-11 "Do Not Be Afraid."

We hope to see you Sunday in worship at 10am.
Next Wednesday, September 4 at 11:30am is our monthly seniors lunch. All retirees or those who consider themselves seniors are invited. As part of the lunch we will be participating in a service project for the Northwest Food Pantry. Please let the church office know if you plan on attending.
Ladies, join us this fall for Now and Not Yet: Discovering Six Ways God is More Faithful Than You Know by Ruth Chou Simons. The group will meet on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm starting September 25. Please sign up by Sunday, September 15, the cost is $15.
The Northwest Food Pantry is looking for volunteers to help on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays. If you are interested in serving our community by helping out at the pantry please contact the church office.

This morning will be a very special service of worship and scripture reading.

There will be a special Blessing of the Backpacks during the service and then children will be dismissed during worship for Children's Church.

Following worship is the Annual Church Picnic, everyone is invited to stay.
We hope you can join us in worship tomorrow as we bless the backpacks of our students returning to school. Worship is at 10am we hope to see you tomorrow.
Save the Date- September 29 at 10am 40th Anniversary Celebration of Faith United.
We are celebrating all of the ways we have seen God do remarkable things at Faith United over the last 40 years. We hope you can join us to celebrate. We will have several special guests and Reverend Diana Stover Burton, one of our first pastors will be our guest preacher.
We hope you can join us this Sunday, August 25 for our Annual Church Picnic and Blessing of the Backpacks.
Don't forget to bring your Backpack to be Blessed and a dish to pass for the picnic. The church is providing drinks, hot dogs, and hamburgers.

Many of our students and teachers are heading back to school this week. We are praying for them as they adjust to new schedules, make new friends, play hard at their sports, and learn. Please pray for the safety of our students, teachers, and school staff as they learn together.

Men's Fellowship is tomorrow at 10am. This is a BYOD- Bring Your Own Dog- event. So gather with your pups and other men from the church at the picnic tables in the front lawn and enjoy each other's fellowship.*

The church needs of a couple of charcoal grills to use for the church picnic on Sunday, August 25. If you have one the church could borrow please let Pastor Emily know or bring it to church with you Sunday.
It is hard to believe but our students and teachers will be heading back to school in the next weeks. Please pray for our students, teachers, and school staff as they learn together.
