LaughFest
Celebrating laughter for the health of it – a festival of comedy, performance, film and a variety of seriously funny stuff that makes us laugh.
All proceeds benefit the cancer, grief and support programs offered through Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids.
Thank you to our friends from Sunday Night Funnies for coming to the Clubhouse on Monday as they presented President Wendy Wi**er with a "big check". The $1,550 amount represents all the proceeds collected this past year by Sunday Night Funnies from 50/50 raffles, comic's purchasing videos of their sets, and t-shirts sales. Sunday Night Funnies is a community partner with Laughfest!
Gilda’s Club and Gilda’s LaughFest share in the community’s grief in the passing of David Abbott. David’s creative approach to all he did was done with passion, enthusiasm, and a special touch that only he could bring. We are grateful for his many contributions to our organization and the festival while he was part of our team, as well as all he did across this grand community. We will miss David’s presence and are grateful for many wonderful memories and the imprint he made on so many individuals in so many ways.
Gilda's Club had the privilege of working with these exceptional interns during the LaughFest season. As their time with us has come to an end, we reflect on the invaluable contributions they have made. We can't wait to see what they are accomplish next!

We have been working creatively with our team as well as Pete Holmes and his team, to find a way that allows Pete's LaughFest event, originally scheduled for 7 p.m. on March 9, 2023 at Fountain Street Church, to happen while achieving the intended goal of raising awareness and funds for Gilda’s Club. After considering many options we regret to share that we are making the difficult decision to cancel the Pete Holmes: Where Were We LaughFest event.
A bulk refund has been requested through Ticketmaster for ticket holders who purchased their tickets online. Please know it may take up to 30 days for the Ticketmaster refund to reflect on your original method of payment. Further information has been sent to ticket buyers via email and is also available at laughfestgr.org/pete-holmes.
We hope to welcome Pete back to LaughFest again in the future!
Hear us out, we may be seeing some of these kiddos as headliners in a few years. You can see more seriously awesome memories from Kids Joke Time in our Kids Joke Time album.
