SECOM Resource Center would like to give a HUGE thank-you to the young adults of the Grand Rapids community who have dedicated their time and talents volunteering with us! SECOM was a host site for Calvin University's annual Street Fest, where groups of incoming freshmen volunteered around Grand Rapids and learned more about the neighbors who live and work here. Additionally, we also had some fantastic visitors from Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School, who assisted in our food pantry, read books to preschoolers, and helped greatly beautify the community garden. We are so grateful to the people who take time out of their week to join us in our mission of bringing help and hope to our neighbors. Thank you to Calvin and Catholic Central!

This Saturday's spotlight goes to board member Kaylee Cooper! Originally from Traverse City, Michigan, Kaylee now lives and works in Grand Rapids as a Managing Director of Skilled Trades, Recruitment, and Apprenticeships for Express Employment Professionals. Kaylee was introduced to SECOM Resource Center when our current board president Michelle reached out about a board opportunity, and has helped serve our community for the past two years. Kaylee has loved seeing how SECOM has evolved over the past couple of years, and has enjoyed watching the neighbors benefit from what our organization offers. A fun fact about Kaylee is that she loves animals and has two big dogs at home. Thank you, Kaylee, for everything you do for SECOM!
