Ménière Episode relief following Dr. Burcon Ménière treatment plan!

Following a particularly horrible 2020 summer of Ménière episodes and desperate for relief I contacted Dr. Burcon, was evaluated and began his Ménière 12 visit treatment plan.

After a very in depth study and initial adjustments I began to see some significant improvement! I continued through the remaining Burcon Ménière Treatment Plan visits as he adjusted/stabilized my top most vertebrae in my neck that were causing my problem.

I am so thankful to Dr. Burcon for his amazing help for me.

As I live 2 1/2 hours from Dr. Burcon, he referred me to a well respected Cervical Chiropractor closer to my home for ongoing follow-up.

Below are my subsequent emails to Dr Burcon updating him on my progress...

3 Months (following treatment with Dr. Burcon):

Dr. Mike -

I remain Ménière episode free!

Occasionally I experience a little dizziness, some fullness in ears but none of the horrible vomiting/diarrhea marathons I was having prior to beginning treatments with you.

We continue to be amazed and thankful to you and to God for using you to help me!

12 Months (following treatment with Dr. Burcon)

Dr Mike -

Thank you again for your amazing help by aligning my atlas and axis vertebrae providing me my Ménière episode relief.

As you suggested, I am seeing Dr. locally for follow-ups, but he has yet to need to adjust those two vertebrae ... saying they are holding and are good!

Also, I continue to use the special Ortho pillow which you recommended... which I believe is helping to maintain your good work...

God bless you and Jane!

I went to see Dr Burcon about 10 months ago. I went thru a week long, intensive program. Before my visit I was having episodes of vertigo, tinnitus, hearing loss, and other issues. He spent so much time getting to know my case and really went above and beyond to get as much done as possible. Since my visit I have been feeling great and haven't had any vertigo or tinnitus. AMAZING! His office is about 3 hours from my home so it's not feasible to see him on a regular basis, other wise I would. But he was very helpful in finding a doctor closer to me that could continue my treatment. He even called my new doctor to fill him in on my history...that really showed me he cares. His wife Jane runs the office and she is great too. I would definitely recommend Dr Burcon to anyone!

Nikola Tesla's quote emphasizes that to understand the fundamental truths of the universe, one should focus on energy, frequency, and vibration. Tesla believed these elements are at the core of reality, suggesting that everything in the universe operates through vibrational patterns and energy exchanges. By studying these concepts, we can gain deeper insights into the nature of existence and the forces that shape our world. This perspective encourages exploring how energy and frequency influence both physical and metaphysical realms, hinting at a more interconnected and dynamic understanding of the cosmos.

“Holding is Healing” is a phrase often associated with Upper Cervical Care, a specialized approach to chiropractic care that focuses on the relationship between the uppermost vertebrae in the spine (the atlas and axis) and the overall health of the body. The philosophy behind this concept centers on the idea that maintaining proper alignment in the upper cervical spine allows the body to enter a state of healing and optimal function. Holding an Upper Cervical adjustment means there is a clear path for message being sent from the brain to the rest of your body.

In Upper Cervical Spine Care, the term “holding” refers to the ability of the spine to maintain its corrected alignment over time. The goal of the adjustments performed in upper cervical chiropractic care is not only to initially correct misalignments but also to help the spine hold that corrected position. This is crucial because the upper cervical spine plays a vital role in supporting the head and facilitating communication between the brain and the rest of the body.

When the upper cervical spine is misaligned, it can interfere with the proper functioning of the nervous system. The nervous system controls and coordinates all bodily functions, so any disruption in its communication pathways can potentially lead to a variety of health issues. By correcting misalignments and helping the spine to hold its corrected position, upper cervical chiropractors aim to restore proper nervous system function and promote the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

The idea of “Holding is Healing” emphasizes the long-term benefits of maintaining proper spinal alignment. It suggests that as the spine holds its corrected position, the body can more effectively heal and adapt to the challenges it faces. Holding in an Upper Cervical adjustment aligns with the holistic approach of upper cervical chiropractic care, which seeks to address the root cause of health issues rather than merely treating symptoms.

In summary, “Holding is Healing” in Upper Cervical Spine Care emphasizes the importance of not only correcting misalignments in the upper cervical spine but also ensuring that the spine maintains its corrected position over time. This approach aims to support the body’s natural healing abilities by optimizing nervous system function and promoting overall health and well-being.

Living with an invisible illness is like navigating through a dense fog, where the struggles are real but often invisible to those around you. While we briefly acknowledged these emotions earlier, we’ll now delve deeper into the emotional landscape accompanying these hidden battles.

Frustration: Chronic illness often disrupts every aspect of a person’s life, from their ability to work and socialize to their independence and sense of identity. Frustration arises from the constant battle against symptoms that seem unrelenting, despite efforts to manage them. This frustration can be compounded by the lack of effective treatments or the slow progress of managing the illness.
Anger: Anger is a common emotional response to the challenges posed by chronic illness. Individuals may feel angry at their bodies for betraying them, at healthcare providers for not fully understanding their condition, or at the unfairness of their circumstances. This anger may also be directed inward, leading to feelings of guilt or self-blame for being unable to “get better.”
Grief and Loss: Chronic illness often entails a loss of abilities, opportunities, and dreams for the future. Individuals may mourn the life they once had or the activities they can no longer participate in due to their illness. This sense of loss can be overwhelming and may contribute to feelings of sadness and despair.
Isolation: Living with a chronic illness can be an isolating experience, as individuals may feel misunderstood or unsupported by others. They may struggle to maintain relationships or participate in social activities due to their symptoms. This sense of isolation can worsen feelings of loneliness and contribute to a decline in mental well-being.
Anxiety and Depression: Chronic illness is closely associated with increased rates of anxiety and depression. The constant uncertainty surrounding one’s health, coupled with the challenges of managing symptoms, can exacerbate existing mental health conditions or trigger new ones. Anxiety may arise from the fear of experiencing flare-ups or the anticipation of negative reactions from others, while depression may stem from the pervasive sense of hopelessness and helplessness.

Ménière’s Disease is a complex condition involving a number of symptoms that vary depending on the individual. More than 200,000 cases of Ménière’s Disease are diagnosed each year based on clinical presentation, but the causes of Ménière’s disease are not well understood by most doctors. This makes it difficult for patients suffering with Ménière’s Disease to find the appropriate treatment.

In its typical presentation, Ménière’s Disease symptoms involve vertigo and inner ear problems. Vertigo is the abnormal sensation of “the room spinning” which can also involve nausea, vomiting, and balance issues in severe episodes. Inner ear problems associated with Ménière’s Disease typically involve only one ear and include a combination of symptoms including fullness of the ear, tinnitus (ringing or static sound in the ear), and progressive hearing loss. Depending on the individual, the combination of symptoms will vary in intensity, though frequent episodes usually include both vertigo and inner ear symptoms.

Ménière’s Disease in adults is conventionally treated with prescription drugs focused on symptom reduction, dietary modification including low sodium and caffeine elimination, and occasionally vestibular rehabilitation for vertigo related balance issues. With conventional Ménière’s Disease treatment, the prognosis of recovery is minimal.

Dr. Michael Burcon has discovered that one of the primary Ménière’s Disease causes that is commonly overlooked in a comprehensive approach to treatment is an injury to the cervical spine, which is the neck region of the spine. In working with hundreds of Ménière’s Disease patients from all over the world, Dr. Burcon has consistently found that when the neck-related issues are addressed, patients suffering with Ménière’s Disease often recover. Dr. Burcon’s specialized protocol for addressing these issues involves a specialized chiropractic approach called Blair Upper Cervical chiropractic.

The Blair Upper Cervical chiropractic approach operates within scientific principles of health, healing, and normal physiology. It is well established that structure determines function, and the human body is no different. The spine consists of 24 movable segments and performs several vital functions for the body; a structural support and base of movement for the limbs, and to house and protect the central nervous system. The central nervous system includes the brain, brainstem, and spinal cord and serves as the “fiber optic” communication system of the body. The key function of the central nervous system is to detect and adapt to changes in the internal and external environments of the body. The perform these functions optimally, the central nervous system must remain free of obstruction and insult.

The upper cervical spine (upper neck) is the region of the spine most closely associated with vital central nervous system structures including the brainstem and cervical spinal cord. The brainstem acts like a switchboard operator by relaying information from the body to the appropriate region of the brain for processing. Central nervous system imbalance can lead to a disruption or distortion of these nerve circuits ultimately resulting in body system disturbances. These disturbances over time lead to the onset of symptoms.

Ménière’s Disease involves a host of symptoms that can be traced back to the central nervous system structures of the brainstem including the cranial nerves, superior cervical ganglion, C1 and C2 spinal nerve roots, and re**us capitis posterior minor (a small muscle of the upper neck with a myodural bridge that attaches it directly to the spinal cord in the upper neck).

With proper mechanical alignment, the upper cervical spine performs safe movement throughout a wide range of motion and transmits no tension or irritation to the central nervous system. When an injury occurs to the upper cervical spine, abnormal mechanics leads to local irritation, inflammation, and central nervous system disturbance. Upper cervical subluxation is the term used to describe the complex structural and functional issues related to these injuries.

Upper cervical subluxations can be caused by forces that damage the soft connective tissues of the upper neck including slips and falls, whiplash injuries, blows to the head, sports collisions, and more. Arthur Croft, the leading expert on whiplash injuries from motor vehicle accidents, describes the “acceleration/deceleration” injury that occurs when a forceful change of direction of the head and neck produces damage in supporting ligaments and tissues of the cervical spine.

Clinical research has found that many Ménière’s Disease patients have experienced these types of injuries in the past, which unfortunately are overlooked in many cases. A comprehensive understanding of the causes of Ménière’s Disease must, therefore, include an exploration of structural insult to the upper cervical spine and subsequent nervous system imbalance. Dr. Burcon’s research with whiplash injuries and one-sided neurological disorders such as Ménière’s Disease confirmed that structural injury and neurological insult are strongly correlated with the onset of Ménière’s Disease and its progression.

Blair Upper Cervical chiropractors are uniquely trained and qualified to detect and correct upper cervical subluxation safely, effectively, and conservatively. The Blair Upper Cervical adjusting procedures focus on restoring alignment and mechanics of the upper cervical spine while relieving central nervous system irritation and imbalance, all without twisting, popping, or cracking the neck or back. This is an important feature for patients suffering with the discomfort of vertigo in Ménière’s Disease.

Heart Health Benefits of Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic, Heart, Preventive Care

Vagus NerveWhen you think about the benefits of chiropractic care, you probably don’t immediately think about heart health. Although it’s true that chiropractic treatment is commonly associated with back and neck pain relief, treatments can also help you improve your heart health. In fact, regular visits to the chiropractor can help to protect your heart.

The vagus nerve is responsible for the regulation of internal organ functions, including heart rate and respiratory activity. This nerve is the longest cranial nerve. It exits the brain in the lower brainstem, which means that it sits on the Atlas, the portion of the spine that upper cervical care focuses on.

As a result, regular chiropractic visits (particularly with a chiropractor who focuses on the upper cervical area) are known to:

Lower Your Blood Pressure
High blood pressure makes the heart work harder and increases your risk of heart attack, heart failure, stroke, kidney disease, or vision loss. In some cases, high blood pressure can be caused by a misaligned vertebra in the neck. Car accidents, injuries or poor posture can cause the vertebra to move out of alignment.

Researchers at the University of Chicago Medicine discovered that realigning the Atlas vertebra (which we focus on here at Keystone Chiropractic) brought tremendous results for patients who were suffering from high blood pressure. The adjustments dropped blood pressure by the same amount as taking two blood pressure medications at once.

Improved Nervous System Function
Misaligned vertebrae pressing on the nerves impairs the function of your nervous system, particularly, the vagal nerves. Maintaining alignment relieves pressure on these nerves. Adjustments help to ensure proper functioning of all of the organs that are controlled by the vagus nerve.

7 things that affect your vibration frequency from the point of view of quantum physics.
Vibration in quantum physics means everything is energy. We are vibrant beings on certain frequencies. Every vibration is equivalent to a feeling and in the world "Vibrational", there are only two species of vibrations, positive and negative. Any feeling makes you broadcast a vibration that can be positive or negative.
1ST - * thoughts *
Every thought emits a frequency to the universe and this frequency goes back to origin, so in the case, if you have negative thoughts, discouragement, sadness, anger, fear, all this comes back to you. This is why it is so important that you take care of the quality of your thoughts and learn how to cultivate more positive thoughts.
2TH - * the companies *
The people around you directly influence your vibration frequency. If you surround yourself with happy, positive and determined people, you will also enter this vibration. Now, if you surround yourself with people complaining, gossiping and pessimist, be careful! Indeed, they can reduce your frequency and therefore prevent you from using the law of attraction in your favor.
3TH - * the music *
Music is very powerful. If you only listen to music that talks about death, betrayal, sadness, abandonment, all this will interfere with what you are feeling. Pay attention to the lyrics of the music you listen to, it could reduce your vibration frequency. And Remember: you attract exactly what you feel in your life.
4TH - * the things you look at *
When you look at programs that deal with misfortunes, dead, betrayals, etc. Your brain accepts this as a reality and releases a whole chemistry into your body, which affects your vibration frequency. Look at things that do you feel good and helps you vibrate at a higher frequency.
5TH - * the atmosphere *
Whether it's at home or at work, if you spend a lot of time in a messy and dirty environment, it will also affect your vibration frequency. Improve what surrounds you, organize and clean your environment. Show the universe that you are fit to receive much more. Take care of what you already have!
6TH - * THE WORD *
If you claim or speak wrong about things and people, it affects your vibration frequency. To keep your frequency high, it is essential to eliminate the habit of complaining and bad talking about others. So avoid drama and bullying. Assume your responsibility for the choices of your life!
7TH - * GRATITUDE *
Gratitude positively affects your vibration frequency. This is a habit you should integrate now into your life. Start to thank for everything, for the good things and what you consider to be bad, thank you for all the experiences you've experienced. Gratitude opens the door for good things to happen positively in your life.
